british gained a lot of respect for mayweather after the hatton fight. of course they wanted hatton to win, but the way floyd fought in that fight they realised how good he was. same as golf, tiger always say the britsh open those crowds understand good shots and bad shots, and arent just shouting “get in the hole” etc. same as boxing.

But they were talking dumb shyt before and during the fight. Even going as far to boo the American nation anthem and Tyrese Gibson. Still remember that.

When Mayweather won they were quiet as shyt. So of course they have to respect him after all that crap they were talking.

Why can't casual and haters appreciate Floyds ability the beauty of what he does

Sugar Ray Leonard did this kind of thing but was a more showsman as well and he got major cheers for it. People TRULY have a innate jealousy of the genetic superiority of Blacks in this day and age. It's just how it is. Serena, for a LONG time, was cheered HARD against but I think she's too legendary now where the ovations are just getting bigger and bigger because she's so close to Graf in the grand scheme.

one of the funniest/ things about the casuals is that they think clinching is illegal and they basically know boxing from tyson highlights and the Rocky movies

yeah clinching excessively can get warned/pointed but everyone was yelling about it every time where i was and floyd barely clinched after the first 4 rounds

defense is non existent to them..and then it got real real quiet when compubox stats got put up...i busted out in laughter..they act like floyd runs because no one touches him..but he doesnt AND out-lands his opponents

they asked me for my card after every round and once i had it at 6-2 i was getting heckled lol

only two other people had seen hagler/hearns and hagler/leonard and us 3 were in consensus so i basically just drank my gin and went times a million to everyone by the end. shyt really was hilarious and those saying it was a bad fight or that boxing is dead are the people that werent keeping it alive in the first place so

He clinched 13 times in the fight. Roughly once a round isn't bad at all.

Floyd was DEAD serious about EVERYTHING coming into this fight, this was the less "Money" he's been leading up to a fight that we've seen. He came to shut these critics and Cacs the fukk up.


I don't know If Manny drank that bullshyt "Jesus got my back" kool-aid and thought it was destiny to win or if Roach just had him hyped up with their "strategy" but Floyd really fought a technically masterful fight. I was definitely satisfied

There are a lot of subtleties to Floyd that go unnoticed to the untrained eye. with a Manny or a Mike Tyson, it's visual, it's visceral. Wailing on nikkas and putting them on their asses is understood by everyone. it's easy to consume. A jab to the gut, quick shifts in defensive stances, switching up to southpaw in a fight. It can look boring to the average person but to someone that lives the sports, the sum of its parts is a beauty to watch. You know its coming but you are useless to do anything about it.
