Wearing Lions gear when it wasn't cool
Actually his haters contribute to his persona, all the shyt said about Floyd can be said about Manny, and that's without harboring fugitives, kidnappings and murders Manny gets linked to in the Philippines that get swept under the rug
Floyd and Haymon vs Arum and Manny is black vs white, if a person that shares my skin back Manny in this fight, you are officially a c00n, this fight is deeper than boxing
Of course, you explained this better than me. I don't care about his persona. I've long realized that most people that get to his heights have a narcissistic, ego overflowing everywhere type personality....and I don't blame them one bit. A lot of people don't realize that and they start to hate someone, in this case, Floyd. The old heads tell me that Floyd really isn't all that different than Ali with the trash talk but people always want the good, humble, docile champion. If he did that, he'd still be on Top Rank with a still remarkable career but nothing like he is now. How do you get attention on a boxer where one punch is still mentioned(Shane), one sparring session always referenced(Spadafora), one black eye brought up (Spence) and by the fourth round in all of his fights, Jim Lampley and Steward were waxing philsophical about other shyt because the fight was virtually over. This is what Floyd has largely reduced his competition to so to make a name, he had to become the boisterous villain. People wondering why he doesn't do it for this fight. Why? What for? He's won. He is about to make over $100 million dollars for the boxing match. He did what he set out to do, so whatever if he pissed off millions along the way because to date, his mouth and action writes the checks that his skills can easily cash and there are going to be some very mad people on May 2. This ain't a Disney movie, the "villain" does win at times.
