The ref could have asked if he meant he wanted to kick, which could be implied by saying "we want the defense of there", and what do you think that dumbass would have said? Ref did him a huge favor asking if he meant he wanted to defer. The fact that the ref had to clean that up for him means he fukked it to breh.

The intent of what he wanted was to not just kick, but to kick and receive the ball in the 2cd half.
And the refs know that.

I'm not gonna kill Alexander but at the end of the day the season is almost over and they're in a playoff push. Prob not the time to be subverting your coach's decisions. or putting your coach in a position where he HAS to assert authority (suspension).

I'm a Lions fan, obviously I don't even fukk with the Packers. But that team has a lot of good pieces and will be dangerous for a long time with Jordan Love now. The year didn't go their way but there's no real reason for that squad to be in shambles right now, with a clear path to the playoffs in sight.

I am surprised more in Gutey not forcing LaFleur to fire Barry, just because that while we don't have a owner, the highest position, President Mark Murphy, can only be President until 70 (Mandatory clause); which is in 2025.

So this Season is a bit odd... because not only is it vital for Jordan Love to show his skills (which he is doing), but Mark Murphy is retiring after next season; so the 2025-2026 Season will have a new President... and that doesn't mean Gutey or LaFleur will get carry over.

Honestly they should just get rid of the whole defer bullshyt. Should just be a decision on who gets the ball first. If you get the ball I decide which direction to kick. Simplifies it for everyone. It’s EXTEMELY rare that a team would actually want to kick off to begin both halves.

"Kicking" off is basically giving up your choice to receive the ball at the beginning of both halves smh lol

Had he been a part of that conversation he probably would have known what he needed to say or what options he had.

It's not fukked very often so most people that are captains are well aware of what they are supposed to say. You are right about the 2008 change, it was much simpler before then and some people still fukked it up
