Glad I'm not the only fan of some of these zjapanese Jazz Fusion bands.

I've been listening to a lot of Masayoshi Takanaka and Casiopea lately.

That T-Square face off was

:wow:

Their live going through each other's works was amazing.

The genre is too good to leave alone. Some joints with the keys at the forefront

Nice. Adding this to my rotation.

Speaking of keys focused jazz, I'm assuming you've heard of Hiromi? This isn't necessarily jazz fusion as more traditional jazz but she is fire on the keys. She has been cosigned by Chick Korea and other big names.

Of course, it would be a disservice to not remind folks that all these newer style sounds of jazz from fusion, smooth jazz, and other more pop version were all started by GOAT, Miles Davis. He helped popularize fusing jazz with psychedelic rock, rock, RnB, and other genres to keep it fresh. His albums bytches brew and A Tribute to Jack Johnson are good examples of him introducing that sound.

Yeah I'm aware of her and her experimentation. Europe and Asia have really good classical music scenes. Especially Europe.

I think the first Jazz album I've listened to from Japanese artists was Cat by Hiroshi Suzuki.

For more of that fusion sound check out Kiyoshi Sugimoto.

I prefer bebop and big band jazz and some avant- garde jazz to most fusion but this was cool

I liked the band that did the first jujutsu Kaisen ending too, they put all of jazz’s children genres together very good

Must be nice to have music programs in your school

First god damned thing to make sense coming out of your mouth in 10 years.

Now stop and think about why the US doesn't have music programs like that.

Japan kills me sometimes with the derivative shyt, OP mentioned Jamiroquai and a few of those grooves were hella close to some of the source material. good tribute band though.
