i've owned both
cats are useless. they serve no purpose unless u live in a barn and want them to catch mice. or in nyc
things i do with my dog that i can't do with a cat
1) go running
2) go hiking
3) meet bytches esp at the dog park
goat wingman 
4) be active (see 1-2)
things my dog does that a cant wont
1) protect my crib when i aint home
and that alone makes my dog better than any cat
things cats do that dogs dont
1) shyt in a box inside ur crib that stinks like ammonia if u dont empty it immediately
2) scratch furniture if u dont buy it shyt to scratch
3) meow like a homo
4) jump in the dryer with ur clean clothes still in it and leave it covered in fur
5) claw at ur feet when ur on the couch or in bed
owning a cat is basically a huge waste of money. there is no difference between "owning" a cat or feeding feral cats or throwing out rice for pigeons to eat. its the same thing. u are just feeding an animal and getting no utility out of it. u can get the same exact experience with a tank full of 10 cent feeder fish for 1/100th the cost. no spaying or neutering involved. no litter box. no cat nip. no scratched furniture

Except it's far more true for dog owners because dogs need constant attention,can't be left alone for too long and dog owners take them with them everywhere.

Keep your cats indoors and if you dont, dont put no damb jingling bell or clinking collar on them since it prevents them from hiding from what goes bump in the night. That video is especially stupid since having your pets food/water bowl outside is literally an invitation for wild animals to come attack it

I did live in NYC and everyone has cats because they keep the bugs and mice away. Definitely not useless lol aside from being funny as fukk.
I came home one day to blood all over the floor and the cat straight
on a mouse. Discovered I had a hole under my sink. I gave him tuna and catnip as a special treat

dogs are funnier than cats too
and have vastly more complex personalities and are smarter cats are active and fun/funny as kittens then they grow up and sleep 20 hours a day
you'd be better off saving that money you'd spend on feeding a cat and vet bills and get the same "humor" by watching cat videos on youtube

how ima protect my house when i'm at work? someone tries to break in my crib they got a 110 pound beast on their ass
when someone with a cat gets their home burglarized cops file two separate reports
1) one for burglary
2) one for hate crime against gays
imagine a self respecting man sitting around at the crib with a cat on his lap petting it. prob on yelp looking for nail salons too
