These nerds don't value efficiency. Why would you make 10 songs about someone when you can say what you gotta say in a few lines and get back to what you were doing? Let's also not act like that there's no craft in shutting shyt down in 3-4 bars vs a whole verse/song either. Like some other cat mentioned, Jay-Z was/is great at this.

Full-on bulldozing diss tracks are a brute force way about going at it and get a lot of fireworks, but those subtle truth-hitting 3-4 bars are more assassin-like. You could say more, but moving on to the next topic stings a lot too.

Just like what they say: Music is the space between the notes.
