They were already early 30’s and had lived in the building for a few years prior to the starting timeline of the series. Kyle was a workaholic accountant and Overton was a Mechanic. Those were brothers on missions in life, with goals and ambitions other than chasing p*ssy which was a refreshing portrayal for black men at the time (and is needed more than ever today) even with that Kyle stayed with a baddie in-between blowing Max’s back out and Overton was the brotha who always wanted to find one woman and settle down instead of having 3-4 baby mamas running his pocket.

Kyle and Overton were EXCELLENT portrayals of black men for the age range the series had them in and to suggest anything else means the OP thinks that black men are a mindless p*ssy chasing monolith with nothing else to strive for.

I agree. They had their stuff together and were portrayed as men with good character. Overton and Sinclaire's lovey dovey affectionate relationship was beautiful to see and l'll never forget the episode Kyle told them cacs to kiss his ass about cutting his locs off.

Great show. Even Khadijah's relationships were cool. Scooter was fine af.

The first two seasons I always thought Synclaire was the best looking not only for looks but because of her innocence and positivity as well. But In the later seasons she gained a lot of weight and I seen how knock-kneed she was and that turned me off. Also in the later seasons Regine starting to look better when she got older.

Growing up in that time, Kadeejah was the most masculine to me but it seems the writers went out of their way to make her the one all the guys wanted to sorta feminize her alpha daggerish tendencies and vernacular.
You're thinking about Cleo, breh.
