Those were brothers on missions in life, with goals and ambitions other than chasing p*ssy which was a refreshing portrayal for black men at the time (and is needed more than ever today) even with that Kyle stayed with a baddie in-between blowing Max’s back out and Overton was the brotha who always wanted to find one woman and settle down instead of having 3-4 baby mamas running his pocket.


Kyle and Overton were EXCELLENT portrayals of black men for the age range the series had them in and to suggest anything else means the OP thinks that black men are a mindless p*ssy chasing monolith with nothing else to strive for.

I couldn't see either one being with Khadijah. Overton had Sinclair, Kyle had Maxine. I could see Kyle getting with Regine, but that never happened.

The way they had it was perfect parings for them and realistic for their characters.
