I like JRPGs like any other bloke, but this list smells of sweaty underarms, dirty clothing, and hairy residue

Do not agree. Taking the FPS out of it, I could argue that the overall gaming media's feelings of "sports games are not real games" is partly racist in nature. I don't know a whole lot of people that played Final Fantasy for example growing up, but damn near everybody I know turned on "the game" for 2K, Madden, and other sports games. Sports games sold new game systems. Do those companies that make sports games get lazy because of exclusive licenses at times? YES. But I can identify with NBA2K for example than anime characters with big eyes, blond hair, and little to no black people in some fantasy RPG. (And I like anime, not shytting on it.) Look at the makeup of the 2K community on YouTube/Twitch for example versus other game communities. Taste is relative.

It’s probably healthier gaming for them there. We get heavily marketed sports and violence simulations. Metal gear the only game I see that’s violent or person to person combat I guess…as far as the ones I know. Is yakuza on the list?
