I don’t buy this. How come Indian people as a general rule age terribly, usually have terrible physique, etc. ? Indian food is aight but it doesn’t strike me as particularly healthy with all that cream and butter
Intestinal health is not the same as general health. The reason many Indians have problems with diabetes and being overweight is because the cuisine is carb heavy. Lots of rice and lots of wheat. If you don't have an active lifestyle then the sheer amount of carbs you're eating is going to cause you to develop problems.
People who rarely if ever eat food that is high in acidophilus and probiotics, turmeric, coriander, and garlic, don't have good gut health. I eat a kilo of yoghurt per week, and include turmeric, coriander, and garlic with almost every meal. If you eat these things frequently you keep your gut nice and clean because they flush out all the bad stuff. On the other hand if you never eat yoghurt (and I know plenty of Coli brehs don't because they associate it with homosexuality, somehow
), and rarely if ever eat those herbs and spices I listed, then on the odd occasion that you do eat them it's going to cause your gut to react in a violent way.
As for people who actually get sick when they go to India, I can almost guarantee that water is the culprit and not the food. Even the locals don't drink water straight from the tap. It's a developing country, the tap water is not safe to drink. So you should never ever drink anything that you haven't personally seen to have come out of a sealed bottle. And this includes water at restaurants and even ice cubes at bars.
