OutKast being canonized as a top group in Hip Hop had nothing to do with revision from cacs. The Source and XXL were already putting Kast on that pedestal in the 90's. The Source already had two Kast albums in the greatest 100 Hip Hop albums before they even dropped Aquemini. XXL were already putting Kast as the GOAT rap group by late 2000.

The first three Outkast albums are rated just fine. Aquemini and ATLiens are brilliant, and Southernplayalistic is pretty good. It's everything that came after that's overrated as hell.

Their first 3 albums are real classics. People like to throw that word around loosely nowadays but those albums will always hold up and be relevant.

I've always found it funny when I've come across people professing to be OutKast fans who couldn't tell you anything that came before Stankonia. I've had to put people on to their first three albums because they'd never heard them despite supposedly being fans. There were a lot of Johnny-come-latelys who jumped on the bandwagon after Stankonia won the Best Rap Album Grammy and Speakerboxx/Love Below won Album of the Year, who didn't even know they had any earlier material.
