he is tho. You dont block 4 shots in an NBA season without being lightning off the floor. Dude was faster, a quicker leaper, more agile, more quicker, more fluid in his movement, and waaaaay more coordinated than Dwight.

What does that have to do with being quicker off the floor? David Robinson was 7'1, do you know how many blocks you can trip over being 7'1?

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Nah! It just don't pass the eye test. Faster and quicker ok, he's not quicker off the floor, he doesn't jump higher and he's not stronger.

The only thing you can say is that Dwight was slightly stronger, Robinson was quicker off his feet, faster in a straight line, much more agile than him and got up just as high. Dwight is not the most athletic 5 to ever play the game, and the C spot has regressed, from a skill standpoint he's not even close to the Admiral.

Plain and simple, Dwight would get destroyed in a matchup with Robinson, like others have pointed out, Dwight has looked like shyt against legit centers over his career. Dwight is the best center today by default, you place him in the 90s and he doesn't even crack the top 5. That has nothing to do with "back in my day" stuff, and more to do with the fact the center spot has been bad for a minute and is just now starting a comeback.

Strangely forgotten fact about the 92 team: Most of the players, especially MJ, were fukking around during the games.

:usure: dwight has struggled against every legit center hes ever faced... Yao Ming used to kill Dwight, and we supposed to believe he could guard Ewing or especially David Robinson :rudy: hed get bodied

Dwight averaged 12/10 on 45% against Yao in his career but he's supposed to put in work against Ewing and DRob?

Yao averaged 24/10 on 56% but he's gonna stop DRob from hitting that 15 foot jumper or driving past him?

I'm still wondering how this thread got 5 pages without mentioning Karl Malone. That big nikka would be eating up love and blake everytime down the court too.

What makes this argument so damn stupid is that the 2012 team would be facing most of the greatest players in the history of the league in their prime. MJ, Pip and the Admiral along with 2 of us could make the game against the 2012 team competitive. The entire roster were considered hall of famers at the time they were chosen. Only Bron, Kobe and maybe Durant hold that esteem on the '12 team. It's stupid that this is even debated.

edit: Could you IMAGINE Harden flopping against Jordan??? MJ would roast that nikka for a quick 30 by halftime just for insulting him like that

I think it would come down to who would have the better advantage between each team's perimeter players and the front court. In other words, would the advantage that the dream team has in the front be greater than the advantage(?) that the redeem team has on the perimeter? :ehh::unsure:

Who said anything about him being better? My 1st post said that Dwight would have the paint sewed up on D. My next post said they(Ewing and Robinson) had never played a Center as athletic as Dwight. My last post said the Robinson wasn't half the athlete Dwight is.

1st post is debatable. 2nd post is the truth, as I said, they hadn't played Shaq at that point. The last post is again debatable.

So where did I say that Dwight was better than Robinson overall or even imply he was better defensively? This was never about Dwight's defense vs David's defense, this was Dwight's defense vs Ewing and Robinson's offense. I said he was more athletic and would give Ewing and Robinson TROUBLE on D.

Robinson had a 15-18 footer that he could make reliably, as well as a turn around from about 12-14 feet. How can you have the paint on lock when the dude you're guarding doesn't mind taking a jumper if it's there? Nevermind the fact Robinson had a ridiculous first step for a center, and often started @ the top of the key with a jab step or pump fake before driving in.

They did play a center as athletic as Dwight, his name was Hakeem Olajuwon (PBUH), or was Dwight quicker, faster and more agile than him?

The problem with your argument is that you act as though Dwight is some marvel that they hadn't seen at that time, they played against real centers who were very athletic and were every bit as good defensively as Dwight (Mutumbo/Hakeem).

For the most part. The ones that weren't considered HOF from their NBA careers were first ballot from college careers even Laettner is in the HOF and that's definitely from Duke. Only Pip was iffy and he was on the way to making a strong case for the hall

You sayin Dwight would have the paint sewed up on D would be indicting that you think Dwight would have no problem defending David robinson or Ewing... or have no issue with Karl Malone or any other player drivin to the hole

which is funny as shyt to me

In that Dream Team doc, they stated how the select team beat them in that scrimmage because they "exposed" them with a quick point guard...BOBBY HURLEY. If Bobby Hurley exposed them, imagine what Russell, CP, and DWill would do against them.
