The shyt is seems like it is even lower scoring than it was in the 80s & 90s.

There is NO star power. I cant even tell you who the "sure thing" players are in regards to future NBA stars, which makes me laugh when I see teams tank nowadays. The fukk you tankin' for?:dahell: Aint no franchse players(except Benjamin Simmons). U do better drafting a foreigner to be honest.

I used to be a huge college hoops fan, but the shyt just aint good as it used to be.

i agree....

breh i was in highschool and college during the 90s.....college hoops back then was....:blessed:

unlv :whew:....duke....:pacspit:....arkansas:obama:unc :youngsabo:....

college-age shaq :salute:.....laettner :pacspit:.....larry johnson :smugdraper:.....glen robinson :smugbiden:......grant hill (especially after laettner/hurley left) :win:......

Simmons wanted to go to duke but his handlers/family pushed him to lsu breh.

Take that shyt where it belongs
:what: it was a lot better when theu allowed them to go out of high school
College Ball was great in the 90's,At first when a player left high school he was can't miss KG,Kobe,Bron but the NBA didn't allow anymore for a reason.:scust: at the 2000 NBA Draft.

No one has said it yet but, CBB has always sucked. All this nostalgia talk is just remembering all the good stuff that happened.

The memories:mjcry:

Saturday's had so many great games and then you had all the classic Duke/UNC games, Iverson vs Ray Allen, Nolan's 40 minutes of hell, etc. A lot of great college players were forgotten because they didn't make it in the pros (Moten, Dehere, Tod Day).

A lot of great moments:

(The 90's may have been the GOAT sports era with Jordan, Barry Sanders, Prime Time, Griffey Jr, Agassi. You had characters in every league and people weren't letting morals interfere with the entertainment.)

The Big East splitting up ruined things for me. Plus these coaches have no offensive system. It's just swing the ball around for 30 seconds. They need to stop trying to be different for the sake of being different and adopt NBA rules.

College basketball is damn near unwatchable

Shot clock is too long, and there are way too many missed shots.

What they call great defense is just an utter lack of offenaive capability

:childplease:

i used to watch those games from top-to-bottom.

all the way down to the mid-majors, whenever they came on.

I don't get this logic. You can't paint everybody with the same brush.

We have seen players come into the NBA at 18-20 and are immediately impact players, and we've seen players come to the NBA at 18-20 and look like boys amongst men.

We've seen players come into the NBA after 3-4 years in college and are immediate impact players, and we've seen players come to the NBA after 3-4 years in college and look like they don't belong.

I got fond memories of the 2012 draft when people were saying Thomas Robinson, the guy who spent 3 years in college was the most "NBA ready" prospect and not Anthony Davis, the guy who spent 1 year. And well, look how that turned out.

There is no set age or amount of "college experience" that "properly develops" a player.

but the rookie of the year ended up being the 4-year damien lillard.

i see what youre saying tho.

shyt been wack ever since 04-05 the year redikk and morrison were considered the top players i knew shyt was getting flabby. Them UCLA teams that made final four were so fukking boring considering the amount of cats that still killing in the nba ben howland sucked.

lol.

yea, i was just watching in march by that point.

i didnt come back around full-time until 2008 via that great '07 high school class.

On top of everything yall saying. The tournament itself makes the whole regular season worthless for the viewer. Why do I need to tune it before the tournament? They even let analysts cover the tournament who aint watched a minute of regular season college hoops (Charles Barkley & Kenny Smith).

whats funny is, they analyze the games perfectly cuz they played, so they can get away with it. but you can tell they dont really watch these teams during the season.

in fairness, barkley doesnt watch most nba teams either.:manny:

I remember when I used to be as excited for CBB Saturdays as I was for CFB Saturdays :banderas:

I remember when I thought Acie Law had next :whoo:

lol.

my cousin has to the biggest acie law fan.

when he was in the league, my cuzzo was happy just to see him sitting the bench.

:scust: @ that score tho.

one thing that people tend to gloss over is the fact that the older you are, the lesser scouts think of you.

alot of guys really do want to stay longer.

look at will barton. he wanted to stay for his senior year but he had to go. and even then, he still got drafted low.

so much better in the 90s. there were tons of players that never had nba careers that are legends: randolph childress, anderson hunt, scotty thurman, etc

and the presentation was so much better. big east mondays & big ten tuesdays... the announcers: bill raftery, digger phelps, quinn buckner

True. Still can't believe Taquan Dean didn't make it. :sadcam:

And cacs always say college basketball is better than the NBA :dahell:

that's a bonafide lie.

college hoops has not been great since the sckraight from the halls of high school rule.

it used to be on another level just below nba basketball.
now, it is a real metric applied knowledge based watch and that can be a chore for a wannabe gateway viewer.

it is arguably a vegas paradise, now.
yet, it seems the a little bit of the predicability of the finals is starting to get back to where it was.
now, duke mastered the one and done championship philosophy to a science it possibly seems.
