The therapist would have never let it get that far. They have de-escalation training and if and I mean the assailant poses a threat they will bw taken down. You can use tranquilizers and bean bags and other non lethal tools. The military does it all the time.

And if they continue then they get killed. But 1st they didn't even do the bare minimum: Psychologist in the field to try and reason.
