Do you agree though that the dollar wont inflate anymore? I dont think there is gonna be a minimum wage increase bc of china.
last week was the start of a whole new monetary value concept.

raising it to $10 is gonna put the mom and pop type business boom out of business. unless they turned themselves into a chain or have a high profit margin where they can pay each employee an extra $3 an hour.
all i know is location is gonna be everything in a few years. and if you're not living in an area where you can work and survive comfortably, you're better off dead... cuz when this hits its only gonna enable those who can find a job that CAN pay such high wages.
im for the raise in wages... but think about how many bosses or business owners are gonna go broke bc theyre gonna have to raise their prices while the BIG BUSINESS has the same shyt for cheaper.
its a catch 22.
minimum income is better than minimum wage ONLY if you know your income can trump the wage.
Mom and pop businesses prolly don't even employ that many people for them to be severely hit.

I don't think anyone can predict what's going to happen with the global economy at this point. China's is setting themselves up for doom with aligning itself to Bitcoin. They also have a significant middle class now so it was only a matter of time before they stopped buying the dollar. There are still places in the world that haven't been globalized and will be exploited for growth.

But the thing with China is that they're not playing fair game. They're making it harder to trade, and they're workers are being abused, Look at the documentary on netflix. it's up to the world to continue to expose them

i hear everything you saying and you;'re on to something. but you're missing a key point.

lets do it like this. i create a business for selling shoes. its just me by myself. i'm doing well. i feel its time to expand. i need to bring in more orders. but i cant handle the customers without some help. i now need someone to work at the front desk, i also need another instore shoe sales person. someone to take orders while i attempt to keep expanding the business and stay creative with my shoe designs.

but doing so will cost me the price of 3 employees(not counting myself).

if my business doesnt make enough money to pay all 3 a true LIVING WAGE. then i need not to expand to that point until i know for a fact my expansion will bring in enough money to pay a living wage to that many people. its that simple. yes this will slow business growth. but oh well. its the right thing to do. and it stops the fools gold we have with small businesses now. if you dont earn enough doe in your business to pay your employees a legit wage. then you aint making as much as you think. when you need slave labor in order to make a come up your product isnt as great as you thought it was.

My wife and I make more than quadruple that together and we still come down to our last dollar before our next checks sometimes. That's with budgeting and not really living above our means. We have cars and a house and things that anybody would want if they work all day everyday, so living on $7.25 is damn near impossible and I feel bad for anybody that has to make life work on a pay like that
:what: Ya'll doing something wrong.

Walmart could pay their workers $12 an hour at only a 46 cent increase to the consumers. Other super corps can pay similar wages for similarly small price increases. But it's like someone already said, the companies are greedy so they rather cut worker's hours and out source jobs.

It's kind of twisted that people are more concerned about saving these greedy billionaires money but don't care about people struggling on their own block.

@Broke Wave can break down why this isn't true. I do think a minimum income is better than a minimum wage, though.

It's a misconception that Corporations can even pay X wage without adjusting their business. Even a maximum wage of 7.25 cents would cause serious business adjustments across the board due to the costs of the products, it would probably have some types of extreme consequences that I am not really able to think about right now. Anyway, a lot of these corporations profit margins are extremely thin and depend on little things like the ability to pay their workers nothing and the government subsidizing the true cost of the worker. If the minimum wage was 5 dollars, who is picking up the tab for the food housing and healthcare of said worker?

Taxpayer.
