Lets cut the religion being equal to a blunt or alcohol as a coping mechanism. Alcohol can physically harm you way worse than religion. Alcohol can cause liver disease. As far as a blunt it has been reported that it can cause cancer.

Orly ? People don't turn to religion to help cope with shyt ?

coping? Working out is actually beneficial...socializing is beneficial...recreational drug use is not beneficial....there is a difference from living life than running away from it.

drinking water and eating broccoli is beneficial, homie, drinking too much water and eating too much broccoli is detrimental. If you think you can just work out everyday and not let your body properly heal and rest, your mistaken. You can turn to working out to run away from your problems, you can turn to reading to run away from your problems, you can do both for socialization and interaction.

I think you need to step your reading comprehension game up a few levels because I never once said that.....

Listen breh, I understood what you said. Doesn't matter if YOU believe that one is not equal to another, they're all coping mechanisms. The thread is about being mentally weak and using a crutch to deal with lifes bullshyt, which goes back to my original post that people can say the same about religion as they do drugs.

i'm pretty sure the ts and other hear the word "need" outta peoples mouths and think they literally mean they NEED it... 9 times outta 10 they WANT it... no different from a nikka that "needs" some p*ssy, etc. true needing is for addicts. and of course addicts are weakminded... they're addicts :mindblown: why are we judgin people for havin a drink after a long day/week again??? live and let live

nah it actually hasn't...well maybe the wrap will, but not marijuana in general. What's off about the mary, is how it slowly causes skitzo and major paranoia and other mental illnesses.

OP, do you chill with people that drink and smoke?
Rarely. My closest homies do it but I be distant from them nikkas unless im in the city they live in. Most of their free time consists of getting high and finding ways to get high. The saying "birds of a feather stick together" is true as fukk. Most stoners wanna be around other stoners, most people that love sports and working out wanna be around those that do the same. Kinda hard for a person who is living sober to hang around a drunk or a fiend on a constant basis. The shyt they be saying sometimes only makes sense to a drunk or high person. I kick it with wifey since we share similar interest and are health conscious.

I think it's a bit hypocritical for people to casually dismiss people who drank "as an escape" because we all have our outlets. If your 90 minute workout at the gym is your way to de-stress, or your church group is your way to re-focus on what's important or your life, etc. etc. it's a bit ridiculous to knock individuals that use alcohol or drugs as their outlet of choice as a coping mechanism.

Too many sober cats feel their vices, outlets, and escapes are so morally righteous comparatively, and at the end of the day, what works for one person isn't always the choice or fit for another, and applying a level of relativity is truly misguided.

If something isn't your bag, then it isn't your bag. But speaking so directly and concretely towards certain outlets that reek of weakness or any other casually thrown about negative term is a cop-out.

Yes, I'm repping for the cats that smoke and drink, and I'll defend that to the death. As I smoke and drink.

All my "sober" friends are self-righteous womanizers, gamblers, and/or porn addicts. Not only that, but they alienate themselves with their religious beliefs that have them shelling out 10% of their income to some pervert in a shiny suit. Disgusting.

All way more shameful and destructive than drinking and smoking.
