soundtrack
yes, yes indeed it was. a year and a half later i still jam to this soundtrack in my whip. i have a playlist on my iphone thats named the "drive/cruisin" playlist where i have those 4 iconic drive songs and other songs that i consider the same genre and i cruise the streets at night to when im in that "zone". that soundtrack opened my eyes to an entire new style of music

The love story is what allowed that monster his character was hiding to come out though.
The robbery and him unleashing hell after it doesn't happen without him liking that girl.
1000% correct good sir. without the love story angle, there is never a reason for the monster to become unleashed in the 2nd half of Drive. thats what made the elevator scene so iconic and poetic. their first kiss shared basically releases his "scorpion" sting on that guy's skull and the rest of the villians in the movie.
Shoulda wrote the story differently then.
Every time those two were on screen together, the movie ground to a halt.
im sorry you saw it that way, but i did not. most ppl i kno that dont like the movie say the same thing. no dialogue, slow first half, nothing happens. IT was an artistic "action" film with the likes i have never seen. obviously not everyone was going to take a liking to the style, but those of us who did, relished in its enjoyment. im stoked for this flick and his new flick Beyond the Pines
