god, you fukking dimwits. armchair ass marines here on the coli thinking its such an easy shot. oswald (or whoever the shooter was) used a bolt action italian rifle from WW2 (infantryman rifle). a TERRIBLE and cheaply made weapon. he had to fire that weapon three times in less than six seconds through a tree at a target moving away from him. two teams of FBI sharpshooters tried to recreate the exact circumstances and COULDN'T do it. various other organizations have tried to simulate that shooting in less than six seconds--with the same view obscured from the foliage of the tree--with that same crappy bolt action rifle and it didn't seem possible to them. this is one of the reasons why there are so many conspiracies about a second shooter. you also have to take into account it was a pressure cooker situation. one chance, no do-overs. this wasn't training. this wasn't an inanimate target he was shooting at. it was the president of the fukking united states. you have to take these variables into account. if it really was one guy doing the shooting, it was a masterful shot. one through his neck, and the other blows his brains clean out of his skull.
Shut up dude. You don't know what you're talking about. It was not 3 shots in 6 seconds, it was 11 seconds. It was not through a tree. I've stood there myself. It was less than 250 feet. The first shot was about 175 feet. That moving target was a slow ass motorcade creeping along at 10 mph.

I don't know where you made up two teams of FBI sharpshooters not being able recreate is from, but I've seen several videos of military personnell recreating the shot with great success.

Here's a video of state troopers making the shot.

Stop believing every exaggerated claim you hear about the shot being almost impossible. It would be impressive for an average dude off the street, not a Marine marksman who once made it to sharpshooter status.

They answer and debunk the following questions:
1. “Oswald’s rifle was a piece of junk.”
2. “Oswald’s rifle scope was broken/not sighted in.”
3. “Oswald’s rifle did not have a clip and could only be fired single shot.”
4. “The shots from the 6th floor of the Texas Schoolbook Depository were very difficult shots at a moving target.”
5. “Oswald was a poor shot in the Marines. He did not have the skill to make those shots.”
6. “Oswald could not have made a head shot with his skill level/with that rifle.”
7. “Oswald could not have made those shots in the time allowed.”

Take your L conspiracy brehs... :camby:

I know some of ya'll nikkas are like "BUT 60% believe it's a conspiracy theory!!!". Well most americans are dumb as fukk and a third of the country doesn't even know who the fukk the Vice President is.

Can't believe it took this long for someone to bring up the fact that Oswalt supposedly did this by himself with a fukking BOLT ACTION RIFLE...that no man has ever been able to reload...let alone reload and hit a moving target...fast enough to even get off 3 shots in less than 6 seconds...

I don't see how it's a conspiracy if it's not physically powerful...

I had a teacher who was a Kennedy nut...he was actually on the FBI wanted list for having pictures and other stuff about the case that was considered "property of the US government"

Something that always struck me was that little girl who was running along side the car and just stops in her tracts like :merchant: after that bullet whizzes by her face

LOL at the foolishness in this article...

"The U.S. Army’s Ballistic Research Laboratory recreation used Oswald’s actual rifle and scope (with shims). In this recreation the shooters fired from a tower at three targets located at 175, 240 and 265 feet to recreate the distances were it was believed the shots were fired. The three shooters each fired one shot at each target with the timer starting at the first shot. The times for the first runs were 4.6 seconds, 6.75 seconds and 8.25 seconds. On the second run through the times were 5.15 seconds, 6.45 seconds and 7 seconds."

They say "was believed the shots were fired"....so they conducted a test without even knowing what the distance was...which is...kind of important in figuring out if someone could actually get a shot off...

If you are to believe that he did shoot it at 250 feet...this just further backs up the fact that Oswald could not have fired the shots alone, because per this report it took them over 6 seconds at 240 feet to hit a STATIONARY TARGET...

Like I said...no one has ever been recorded as being able to fire this gun from that distance 3 times in 6 seconds or less...and you think Oswald was able to do it while having to shoot at a moving target?

It was only 200 ft. away (about 83 yds). Marines in the 60's (and 90's when I was in) were required to hit targets up to 1500 ft. (500 yds) away.

Also, the whole thing took 11 seconds, not less than 6. This timing is corroborated by eyewitnesses who stated that there was a pause between the first and second shot followed by a shorter pause between the second and third shot. Oswald's first shot isn't on the Zapruder film and that is why the recreations failed since their reaction time was reduced. Oswald took the first shot which missed, then was blocked momentarily by a lamp post, then fired again, paused (BRASS-F), then fired the final time.

Also, it was in a relatively straight line away from the Repository and the driver actually slowed down and stopped after the first shot......

-UPI's Four Days (1964), p. 17---In the right hand picture [a frame from the Muchmore film], the driver slams on the brakes and the police escort pulls up."
-Newsweek, 12/2/63, p. 2---"For a chaotic moment, the motorcade ground to an uncertain halt."

-Time, 11/29/63, p. 23---"There was a shocking momentary stillness, a frozen tableau."

-Case Closed by Gerald Posner (1993), p. 234---"Incredibly, Greer, sensing that something was wrong in the back of the car, slowed the vehicle to almost a standstill."
AND
-Gerald Posner, with Dan Rather, on CBS' "Who Killed JFK: The Final Chapter?", 11/19/93---By turning around the second time and looking at JFK as the car slows down, Posner says that "What he [Greer] has done is inadvertantly given Oswald the easiest of the three shots."
