One thing always kinda bothered me about Dragonball Z.

Dr. Gero, Cell, and those later villains should have had more henchmen characters in order to give guys like Piccolo, Krillin, Tien, and Yamcha an opportunity to shine a little bit. It's too bad the human characters never learned Kaio Ken...
Also, Trunks and Goten should have never been able to become super saiyans so easily. That's something you should have to EARN
At least we'll always have Yu Yu Hakusho and One Piece

Dr.Gero and 19 were henchman level. They were basically zarbon and dodario of the Android saga. We can't have villians weaker than yamacha. He was the only z fighter taken out by saibamen my nikka. Krillin killed like 3 by himself. And Tien put in work against nappa and cell.

As much fun as it is to clown Yamcha, I'll be fair to him.
As embarrassing as his death was, he was actually doing work against that Saibamen. He knocked the Saibamen around for a bit and left it in the dirt. He got cocky at the last minute thinking he had already won the fight, and that's what got him killed.
He wasn't actually THAT much weaker than Krillin or Tien in the Saiyan arc, even though both of them were much more useful (Killing 3 saibamen, doing work against Nappa, cutting Frieza's tail off for Krillin, and pushing Cell's wig back for Tien.)
Ever since Dragonball, Yamcha was always a reasonably strong fighter (back then, not in DBZ of course), but had the worst luck in the universe.
Always having to fight the strongest dudes in every tournament from the jump

I guarantee if you asked Toriyama, he'd say he forget Radditz existed.

Fans need to accept they care way more about this kind of thing than Toriyama ever did.

This is why DBZ is a "baby's first anime" that's better left to nostalgia.

Story wise it isn't that deep and only introduces things to justify the next fight. Raditz existed strictly to hype the arrival of Nappa and Vegeta.
