One thing always kinda bothered me about Dragonball Z.

Toriyama introduces Goku's brother into the first arc, usually when there are evil siblings brought into a story, they usually become mainstay characters, we get Radditz who's introduced and killed...he's mentioned in passing maybe once, he's connected to both the protagonist and the deutragonist(vegeta) and they just ignore he ever existed, don't even mention Radditz, what's even crazier is that Goku develops a brotherly bond with Vegeta, a character he spared who's arguably worse than Radditz. The whole situation just seemed kinda stupid. If Radditz knew he had a brother, why wouldn't he just reason with him first? They can still have their fight, but it can take on a different kind of purpose. Radditz wants to recruit Goku to Vegeta's cause because they're related or something. (He cares in a twisted saiyan way)

Goku just killed his brother and never thought about it, that's crazy.

Instead of Frieza killing Krillin, why not it be Radditz? Goku turns super saiyan over the loss of his brother.

Radditz just feels like such a wasted character imo. There could have easily been three saiyans, and the story would have been just as good, if better , I would have liked to see Radditz develop.

I forget but didn't raditz try to recruit Goku but Goku refused.

@Bolded Goku threw into the stage his son to fight a planet destroying Android he is not exactly a character to have expect to respond or have actions that other people would do/have

@2nd bold why? Goku is close friends and entered into martial arts with Krillin it makes sense he goes SS over his death. Raditz is someone who despite being related to he does not know. Plus took his son hostage

@3rd bold ehhh fukk Raditz

It was never going to happen. Raditz's character design looks too similar to Vegeta's design. He has the same widow's peak, making him and Vegeta resemble each other far more than him and Goku did. Raditz main purpose was to be the entry level Saiyan villain to make Vegeta and Nappa look more dangerous and threatening. Nothing more.

The problem I have with DBZ is no one ever beats someone stronger by outsmarting them. It's purely "higher power level wins". That ruins the suspense.

My other issue with DB is that many of the character designs in Dragon Ball Super are pure trash. Even before Deviant Art was a thing I saw some very impressive DBZ style original designs. On Deviant Art there are tons of hot designs. Yet most of the ones on the show are garbage. Looking at Android 21's design in DBF just shows how little effort is put into the ones in Super.

They never used him more because they never planned to go further into the series at that time. It was like that because Toriyama planned on ending the show after the Frieza saga. This would have completed the overall Saiyan story from a rise and fall perspective. Plus Vegeta is much better and a more compelling character than Radditz.
