Prolly, but they're setting him up to be One Punch man's premier martial artists. He'll be an important recurring character. Also, I can't imagine him not putting up a good fight. How many cats are THAT much stronger than him, seriously? I can name 3 maybe.

People been wondering what is the spiritual successor to dragon ball, I think One Punch Man is arguably better than Dragon ball by not trying to be anything like dragon ball or other shounen series. It stands on it own. Saitama is pretty much the best protagonist. Luffy, Ichigo, Naruto seem like Goku's sons to a certain extent, Saitama is pretty much the only one who stepped up to Goku's level by not following his footsteps.
