Gotta say, I think he's right Oda has spent too much time foreshadowing Luffy's death for it not to happen

I definitely think that Luffy’s overuse of the gears will catch up to him. I don’t see him dying or getting executed the minute he finds the one piece though. I could see them doing a distant finale like 30-50 years later where Luffy finally dies, but I don’t think soda would do that immediately.

Now remind me, doesn’t Law have the power to give one person immortality at the cost of his own life because of his fruit? Because if that’s true, I can definitely see him giving up his own life for Luffy’s at some point.

We first learn about Joy Boy at the end of the Fishman Island arc:

However, the story has been hinting at a connection between Luffy and Joy Boy as early as the Skypiea arc, especially after Who's Who's conversation with Jinbei in chapter 1018.

Haki is also explicitly mentioned by name when Shanks uses it in Chapter 434/Episode 316. Luffy himself doesn't begin his training to master this skill until chapter 597/Episodes 515-516.

Oda was already setting up Haki around 200 episodes before the main characters even began their training to master it.

Bonus: The Four Emperors and the New World are first mentioned all the way back in the Post-Enies Lobby arc.
