The show been running since 1999. Since I was in the 7th grade :flabbynsick:

I give OP it's props but I tapped out after the Dressrosa arc because of the anime's pacing. I should have been #readgang after that but I got too lazy, lost interest and discouraged by how long the rest of the story would take.

Oda gonna put a lot of writers to shame if he aces the ending to this story though :mjpls:
This will shyt on a lot of fandoms if the ending gets stuck lmfao

Honestly I think there's no chance he can fukk it up unless he rushes the ending. That's kinda why Dressrosa dragged even somewhat in the manga because it was after Oda had gotten ill and he decided to combine some planned stories into one arc to get through some parts faster.

But honestly, there's so much left to be revealed that I still don't see the series being wrapped up within 5 years unless we're not getting any further world building after Wano and it's only going to be all the different players within the existing world getting put in the right position for the series' endgame.

One Piece went from not even being mentioned at all in my list to arguable Top 5 :wow:

One of the best examples of power scaling done right as well. There are rules characters have to follow, and there are ways to counter powers shown as well as having a defense for it.

Haki is honestly one of the GOAT techniques/powers introduced in an anime not just because of how versatile/powerful it is, but how it acts as a check/balance to the Devil Fruits presented, especially Logia.

Pudding shows up in the Fishman Island arc as a bit character, several story arcs and hundreds of chapters before she plays a major role on Whole Cake Island.

Chapter 651:

That's why the Bleach and Naruto stan wars were so silly back in the day to me. Oda put together a detailed story from the jump while the others struggled to hit the finish line.

Facts. Kishimoto and Kubo were playing checkers with Naruto and Bleach.

Oda is playing chess with One Piece.
(Hunter x Hunter is legit too, when it’s not on hiatus.)

Chapter 213: During the Skypiea flashback 400 years prior to the events of the main series, Montblanc Noland tells a bunch of local kids stories of his adventures in the land of dwarves.
(Note how the little kid to the left of the old man has a Straw Hat just like Luffy's.)

Chapter 713: In the Dressrossa arc (421 chapters later or 10 years in real time), Tontatta dwarves are telling stories of a legendary explorer named Noland who visited them 400 years ago (in reference to the Skypiea flashback).

Noland's stories back in the old times seemed like lies to the children listening. 400 years later, Usopp came through and told those little cats ACTUAL lies. The parallels :wow:

Oda is the foreshadowing God. A really subtle one I only peeped once they put One Piece on Netflix was this

From about the 0:25-0:30

I dunno how the manga handled this but its incredible to me that a throw away line from the narrator about the Elbaf Giants being cooked by a little girl in like episode 77 was fleshed out 700 episodes later

Nah, you gotta watch the flashback all the way through. The little girl referred to here is the girl who asks Dorry and Brogy who had the bigger catch, which caused the rivalry between Dorry and Brogy and ended their pirate crew.

What's crazy though is that Elbaf is one of the first islands the Strawhats learn about after reaching the Grand Line (somewhere after the 100th issue) but at this point we have only seen it in a flashback as they have still not reached it almost 900 issues later. :mindblown:
