I know a couple big guys wrestled in the local scene in my area. They were actually pretty good for their size. Thought they had a chance. Brothers about 800 pounds together. Had a couple matches with TNA as a tryout a few years back. Didn't cut it I guess last year they quit and opened a food truck.

I think the style of wwe and wrestling as a whole has a lot to do with it. Gotta have the cardio to keep up with the smaller athletic guys. You saw a lot more punch kick slow paced matches in the 80s and early 90s as I recall.

Fat fukks are just more athletic now. The biggest your going to realistically get in like WWE now is Damo and Heavy Machinery.

Strongman/weightlifting competitors are the way to go, Henry, Braun and Rusev are proof the talent is there from those backgrounds. Previous era's you would pick up the football linemen who weren't good enough to get drafted or ones who retired early with knee injuries, nowadays those type of injuries are no longer career ending. There are also alot more ways to make money, as oppose to the 70's, 80's and 90's like reality TV shows, or if they drop enough weight go fight in MMA.

Athletes generally also take better care of themselves in today's world, then in previous era's.

For sure. Watched a documentary on Eddie Hall recently. He'd make a great wrestler, I think. Definitely has the look, strength, and the sense of showmanship.
