Empire strikes back
well Harbs delegated everything on defense to Fangio and basically didnt bother the man and let him do his thing. Not every offensive-oriented HC is willing to do that. Youre right about leadership, although I think this does backfire because when Harbs teams start losing, theres a lot of tensions (but then this happens for most of the losing teams). Beli didnt really bring his 'way' until the Pats job, people forget that he wasnt a success at HC, he had 1 winning season in Cleveland after being an amazing DC. And Pete was the guy he replaced who also didnt quite bring winning culture to a stacked team. Different coaches succeed differently imo. there really isnt a pattern.Harbs didn't offer any defensive input and his in-game decision making wasn't the greatest. The reason he was/is a great HC is because he's a leader. He brings a distinct culture of winning to wherever he goes. Beli does the same thing, and Chip is in the mold of Beli. People forget, but Beli did the same thing Chip did when he first got to New England. The Patriots Way. It's why Beli went to bat for Chip when he got released.
