qb cant throw to himself either football is a team game, yeah. and ?

And without a QB to direct traffic and give orders on the field players wouldnt know what to do and just be playing flag football just complete chaos

this is by far the weirdest answer Ive heard as to why a qb is 'omg importanz'
so let me get this straight...somehow the defensive players know exactly what to do on the field but without the qb offensive players will be playing flag football ?
hint: coaches dial up plays

yeah I dont like kyle. shanny needs to snap out of being senile and just do his thing himself. hes gotten a bit soft in denver and washington.

Yep..... cuz many mistakes can happy if someone isnt careful enough to perfect place it in the hands of a running back who isnt looking at them but the line trynna quickly assess which hole to break through.... too far left too far right, to high to low its a fumble. If you fumble now you have chaos where several fast 300lb guys are coming at you.

I know from tv its looks like the easiest thing to do cuz these guys make it look easy. But I'm sure if you put the average guy or some cats that dont do that in that same position, you'd see a lot more fumbled handoffs.

But thats a different tangent......

when I made that comment I wsnt necessarily looking at it or stating my context from that perspective. I meant as in literally if QB wasnt there who is giving him the ball? Oh he's just gonna get shotgun snaps and taking off with it? Is he really gonna stand behind the center then just run on hikes? Both choices would then make the RB become a nonfactor...... there would be no running game.

Football is indeed a TEAM GAME but on this team everyone has a role.... some are more important some are less. and a QB's role is organize, lead, manage, survey, communicate, and distribute the ball. The QB has the ball in his hand every single play and the QB not only has to know every play on offense but as many if not every play on defense. WR's dont need to know the protection on the online, the route (to a degree) of the RB or even his other WR's routes. All that dude needs to know is his route and hopefully were he is on the field, and what his fellow CB and maybe a safety is doing. Other than that.... he's pretty much in his own world, same for the RB... they dont need to know other cats positions.

But if we gonna talk about Defense, isnt it said that the MIKE LB or Middle linebacker is pretty much the guy that calls the plays on defense, gets guys set, gives out orders? I've seen many games where its the MLB shifting guys here or there or doing similar expected leadership type things from a defensive perspective. I've never seen like a DE realize a CB or Safety isnt in the right spot and tell him to go where or etc.

But lets not try twist this too much and stay within the frame of the topic. A defense primary job is to protect their side of the field and stop a team from scoring, their job isnt to score, now yes sometimes they do and when they do its a bonus, but not necessarily their job. Its the offense job to put points on the board, I know that, you know that, again lets not try to twist this or hash shyt out we both already know.

Now the coach thing? No one said a coach doesnt "dail up" a play, but who is he giving the play to? The RB? The WR? The TE? the RG? hell no, he's giving it too the QB, it is then the QB's job to communicate that to the offensive team and then assess and execute or distribute accordingly. He has to know all the plays, all the positions, where everyone is, where the heat is coming from, blah blah blah, he has to worry about not only his job but everyone else job. Most of the other players just have to worry about them.

If we need to break it down better, then its like a business. If you are a regular employee at your job, you just come in, clock in do your assignment and leave. But you dont do Bob's job or Jane, you do you. Your manager/supervisor assigns you the assignment, critics you, gives you more work or less etc. He has to actually monitor everyone on your team. Above him may be a higher exec that gives him the info or etc he needs to relay to you to do your job. Do you go in these higher exec meetings or does this higher exec ever comes to you the front end worker to do something? Hell no. But there is levels to this shyt, yes to a degree your manager aint shyt with out you, but you also aint shyt without your manager. And if you're not train to handle all the shyt they need to handle theres no way in hell you could successfully do what they do.

If QB wasnt important and anyone could do it, I'm sure then coaches would probably just let anyone from the team line up back there

My bad rambling with this, and please dont take anything above as condescending as I'm sure 80% up there you already are aware of or know. But hey..... I was just trynna make it less weird

There are folk on some boards that praise the QB for handing the ball off. Well, only one board in particular.

He's the ZBS king so Hyde should eat well. He also has experience with mobile QBs so maybe he can bring Kap back to life. Was mainly trash in Washington, but he has pedigree so maybe he'll set us on the right track...

Didn't their offense rely on a lot of downfield shots? Gabbert is pretty mobile, but he can't throw past the sticks for some reason.
