I wouldn't give any coach the final say in make personnel decisions though. It rarely works out for the good. It's always best if the GM and Coach can reach a common ground. Coaches have too much on their hands to dabble in personnel decisions.

I'd rather them both work together but some coaches can't draft and neither can some GM's.

What about Lane Kiffin?

:lolbron:

Well they had a winner in harbaugh and fired him for no reason, hired tomsula who was the worst coach in the league and maybe worst ever and now they gettin put on the burner by their top candidate Hue Jackson who's claim to fame is getting the raiders to 8 wins but that's enough to impress most here so, I'd be happy with Lane tbh:yeshrug:

Hue at worst was mediocre at best pretty good in his 1 year. This staff was trash at best.
Hue was trash at personnel decisions for that year he was the HC on the Raiders.

my point is if youre invoking the 'small sample size' thing, you better be consistent, aint nothing worse than selective 'small sample size'. if one year is a small sample size, then it is small sample size for everyone.

But I get it and I don't think the deal was THAT bad.
it was bad, if they made the offs it wouldve been two first rounders.

and palmer turned out better on another team, after like 2+ years. this doesnt matter at all in NFL, its not the NBA, you dont get talent for sake of getting talent. you get talent for right circumstance. talent in NFL doesnt play in vacuum.

49ers roll over $12.2 million in salary cap space into 2016

The NFLPA recently updated the salary cap figures for the coming 2016 league year, and they list the 49ers with $12,206,686 in roll over. That is money the 49ers did not spend on players in 2015, and thus can be used in the coming offseason. The new league year starts in mid-March.

The NFLPA salary database lists the 49ers with $101,730,482 in contract obligations. The salary cap is estimated in the range of $150 million to $153 million. Our man Jason Hurleyhas the 49ers currently looking at $54 million and change in cap space for 2016, but that is a fluid figure as the new league year approaches. That being said, the 49ers are going to have a lot of cap space to play with in March.

We lose Hue. I'd rather give Holmgren a shot over Kelly and the rest

Edit

Whatever mode they're in, it sure doesn't appear that Chip Kelly is in their plans. -San Jose news

I'd be fine with Coughlin. I mean if we can't get Hue.Holmgren could be okay, but i feel like he's been away from the game for a while, not sure how'd that effect him. I'd say if we go after chip, it has to be only if he agrees notto be a gm and coach, can't be both imo.

I just realized that there are a lot of bad matchups/winners in the SB for 49ers fans souls.

Chiefs vs Packers QB we told to :camby: vs the one we should have drafted
Patriots- Tom surpasses Joe in SB wins
Cardinals- not a good look if a division rival celebrates on your home turf
Seahawks- Ultimate ether.

I'm thinking it's Carolina vs Denver in the SB:obama:

I don't think Coughlin would come here so I didn't include him. I don't think Holmgren has been sitting around and not following the game

we gonna do anything with it? :beli:

i would pursue janoris jenkins and prince kamara since the 9ers struggle drafting quality CBs. most of the players available look like they'll get franchised if they don't re-sign.

the 9ers can take a chance on irvin or okung since the seahawks will lose one, but i don't think irvin fit the defense well and okung should be a priority for seattle so he'll get what he wants.

Doubt Irvin goes to the Niners. He was trying to get to Atlanta at the beginning of the season, so I think he'll try and get there.

The Niners need to focus on the D Line. Specifically, resigning Ian Williams and either signing a high impact DE or drafting one. Pressure will make average corners look better than they are. I think the Niners have decent corners, I just think they should be starting Johnson instead of Acker.
