I hate when people bring up winning with class. They always use the Niners of the 80's as an example. There are so many stories from players on that team, the only difference between now and then is how easy it is to get information through the media.

The arrests affect the team because of suspensions and depth..etc. Its always good to not have guys getting arrested. I don't care so much about the image of the team, but whether or not our top guys will be out on the field.

Weren't there rumors about Montana being on coke in the 80s

Yeah I expect Gabbert to start but...

Gabbert has received virtually every first team rep since minicamp. Why not let Kap start this game? I thought this was supposed to be a fair competition? I'm going to assume we see Kap fairly early.

I know Im a minority here about this, but tbh Id done the same thing at this point.

at this point I feel like there is very little these qbs can do in one game for gabbert to lose the spot. like gabbert would have to commit several dumb turnovers and kaep to completely ball out. its not kaeps fault with him missing time over an injury, but thats how shyt works- he missed too much time for the competition to not be lopsided

let kaep build his confidence too, dont put all the pressure on him, let him play with the twos and then let him play the last preseason game. confident kaep and shellshocked kaep are two different players.

gabbert starts the season, but has ultra short leash. if pass offense struggles (and it most likely will since after rams theyre playing some good ass teams), they can put in kaep claiming hes now up to date and fully healed.
