If either Redmond or Robinson can start for us, then i'll say it's a solid draft. Cuz right now it's looking like we just added another two bodies to our bloated and mediocre cb corp. Maybe Blair can become a serviceable rotational guy too. :yeshrug:
I have a feeling chip told him to draft 2 cbs, there's no way brock or acker start this year.

Johnson one on side and reaser/robinson/redmon on the other side

That looks like one of the worst cb corps in the league, but I hope one of them breaks out and proves me wrong

great draft imo. we addressed major needs in the trenches with players whose floor is long career quality starters and added DB depth. only pick i question is robinson because of his off-field habit, but moving ward to FS and reid to SS should immediately upgrade our secondary alone so i'm not too worried about that right now. biggest concern is WR and LB now. i'm guessing 9ers are banking on eli harold development and possibly having tartt play in the box in packages since he bulked up to close to 220 now.

Not really, Johnson should of started last year, just a wasteful year overall
Our CB play was godawful last year and I don't see any improvements to it so far, especially if it's true we're moving Ward, the lone bright spot, to safety. I'm positive coaching had a lot to do with it, but these guys looked like damn scrubs, getting burnt, horrible technique. I still have nightmares about those 5 yard cushions. Nobody back there played well enough for me to be confident in them moving forward. Johnson didn't play as much as Brock or Reiser, so maybe he can break out, but i'm not holding my breath. He's shown blips of competency, but nothing to make me think he's some diamond in the rough.

Did the 49ers draft any players that would lead us to believe that the 49ers will not finish dead last in PPG again?:ohhh:

I thought it was a solid draft. Would've liked to have drafted an inside linebacker but overall this was a solid draft.

Naw.... I think we are straight. I like Whiloite and Hodges is coming around. They work with Bowman. Unless there was a true Willis/Bowman esque replacement out there (which there wasnt) I'm fine with us not wasting out time to get someone thats only gonna sit behind them and not add anything to the team other than an extra body.

I think for years we've been spoiled to have 2 GREAT LB's on the team when historically a lot of strong defenses always been fine with that ONE great LB and just some decent/solid other LB's with him and strong DLinemen.

adding garnett, getting kilgore and hyde back will help improve the offense. i don't think they'll finish dead last because the browns should take that title, but there will be growing pains to keep expectations realistic. the schedule is tough.

eli harold is gonna come in huge:ohhh:makes me feel better about the LB position.

9ers added 11 UDFA:

WR: Bryce Treggs (Cal), Devon Cajuste (Stanford)
OG: Blake Muir (Baylor)

DL: Demetrius Cherry (Arizona State), Darren Lake (Alabama), Alex Balducci (Oregon)
OLB: Jason Fanaika (Utah), Lenny Jones (Nevada), Kevin Anderson (Stanford)
S: Jered Bell (Colorado)

K: John Lunsford (Liberty)

armstead, buckner and balducci reunited :blessed:

Cajuste is huge and athletic so they can possibly play him between WR and TE.

Chris Culliver released

I know he had another acl injury, why not bring him back on the cheap?

It's a cold world, sign a new deal, tear a acl and get released
