I believe the front office still thinks this is an elite franchise.

This can be true too..... Kaep can have some bad games.... just like Brady has bad games, Rodgers had some bad games..... P. Manning had some bad games...... Eli had some historically terrible games, games waaaaaaaay worse than Kaep has ever had in his career...... then there are the Cutlers, Romo's, Staffords and so on. Before Kaep got benched.... Cam was statistically exactly the same a Kaep through 7 weeks.
But all of a sudden acting like Kaep is the worse thing ever after 7 games..... only 5 they lost and of the 5 only 2 that were actually bad? Thats preposterous!
What you are leaving out is Kaep never had that great level of play of those guys you mentioned, never on a consistent basis.
His best seasons were pretty middle of the road, his best games were never earth shattering (aside from the GB game with the rushing record, which isn't a passing skill).
You're also leaving out the steady decline of Kaepernick.
But I cannot convince you, it's pointless because you feel your way and i feel mine.
But reality is showing you the value of Colin Kaepernick. Most teams kill for a potential franchise QB, no one is that eager to acquire Kaep. That says all you need to know

If we are gonna go on great level of play then only like 5 guys in the last year have really had that.... Kaep been in line if not slightly better than the rest of the crowd yet no one ever calls them trash or damaged. I've seen Eli play some of the worst brand of football ever..... but I get it.... he got 2 lucky SB wins so he's safe from criticism. But Cutler should not be a starting QB in the league yet he's gets pass after pass after pass. And Romo? I mean really.... what has this dude really done? Oh yea... he's thrown for 400 yards a few games..... the same games in the same season he cant even lead his team to the playoffs yet alone be the top team in the shyttiest division in the NFL.
I'm not trynna pretend there wasnt a decline, but it wasnt just him, the entire team declined, a lot of talent every left, stays hurt or doesnt play up to their capabilities. That doesnt fall soley on him and he shouldnt be the scapegoat.
The reality is, teams are just trynna get him for the discount. Dont fall for the banana in the tailpipe, teams want us to think boy is trash and give him up for pennies. If you really cared about the team and getting better you should be happy the team being shrewd with this. You dont trade a $20 for a $5, thats stupid. Why should we play ourselves?
