It's a composition and style of illustration that Drew Struzan popularized back back in the 80s:

Steven Chorney is the one that drew and painted the poster for Once Upon A Time in Hollywood though.

Tarantino is a fan of blaxplotation and flicks from the 70's. This style has been around for ages

Can't say I disagree with a single word here. Leo probably is the last true headliner star in Hollywood

"His Brand Is Excellence": How Leonardo DiCaprio Became Hollywood's Last Movie Star

I hate how they try to downplay Will Smith like he’s still not an international star or like ANY director in Hollywood is turning down the concept of Will Smith starring in their film.

Bright was Netflik’s FIRST 100 Million dollar budgeted movie, because of WILL SMITH. Suicide Squad and Alladdin got middling reviews but all critics agreed that WILL SMITH was the best part of both films. Tarantino wrote Django with WILL SMITH in mind for the role.

Probably because when Will does movies like Collateral Beauty, Concussion and Seven Pounds, audiences don't show up for him.

People showed up for Leo in the Revenant. Will doesn't have the role diversification for such a comparison.

Audiences didn’t show up for Body Of Lies, J.Edgar, and Revolutionary Road either. Every big named actor has one or two “flops” under their belts. Audiences showed up for Pursuit Of Happyness and Ali.

To say Will doesn’t have “role diversification” is simply false. Six Degrees Of Separation, Ali, Pursuit Of Happyness, and the aforementioned Concussion all prove to the contrary.

We hear you but Leo is Leo and people still turn up for anything he does. Plus, he just know how to pick movies to star in. As another commentator has already mentioned, people don’t turn up for anything Will Smith does like they once did.

However, Will Smith does pick passion pieces.

The point with will, and this is what the writer said, is he’s done the big comic book movie. He’s dipped his toe in that water. Either out of necessity or desire. Leo hasn’t for his own reasons. That’s not to knock Will, for me anyway. His name has helped a lot of projects get over the finish line and become hits. Even recently. But Leo’s name also got a damn near 3 hour survivalist movie almost 600 million around the world. That’s no small feat.

So then the next question is, what’s the last flick will did that wasn’t based on an established IP that was a hit with both critics and regular audiences? That’s not me throwing shade either lol I’m asking cause I don’t know. And that’s also the point of the article: Leo is both a critical darling and a movie star. He merges both groups in a time where that divide seems to be growing

J. Edgar and Revolutionary Road weren’t flops. Body of Lies profited off it’s budget.

Nah I’d put J. Edgar in that category. It costs 35 to make not including advertising, only made 37 domestic and about 87 around the world. They were lucky if they broke even on that and I’m not even good at math lol. Same with revolutionary road. Gotta factor in the advertising, which we rarely get to see, but a rule of thumb is if your movie costs 30, you spend another 30 on ads. Now maybe for smaller movies like revolutionary road, the studio doesn’t spend as much nationally. Instead, they’d focus that money for Oscar campaigns.

Can’t speak for body of lies tho

So then Seven Pounds and Collateral Beauty weren’t flops as they profited off their budgets correct?

CB made 88 million off a 36 millie budget

Seven Pounds made 168 million off of 56 millie budget
