I think we all knew that J.A. leaving was a foregone conclusion. Dude was the man when he played for the Vikings but an aging pass rusher who couldn't give a fukk less about stopping the run isn't what a rebuilding team is looking for.

The guaranteed money is :whoo: for Griffin but I feel like Zimmer must have had some input on this one. He has shown flashes of being legit so I'm fine with this.

Yup...

Top dollars for Griffen, but cheaper than what Allen would sign for. Really wish we traded Allen and Toby though...

I like this because it shows Zimmer, Spielman think Griffen is ready to take the next step.

Now I hear we are looking at the dude from Tennessee at CB, and Arthur jones from ravens or Paul Soliai at DT...

They also brought back Brinkley.. Good for depth, but I am looking for Cole, Hodges, Mauti to step up.

At this point I want us to go best available with our first pick if we don't trade out.

I don't know how I feel about the Vikes giving Everson that much guaranteed money. He's shown flashes of being great, but hasn't proven to be consistent yet. Giving him top 10 money at that position seems a little egregious. But if Zimmer thinks he can make Griffen elite, then I guess I trust him.

I hope the Cassel re-signing over the weekend isn't the Vikings' way of saying they're content at QB. We've already seen how that experiment goes. I'm rooting for Money Manziel with the 8th overall pick.

I like the moves and the dudes they're kicking the tires on so far. Great to see a shift in culture and trying to shake things up. Griffen has a motor so you're right, Zimmer probably liked what he saw and felt he was being underused. I have a feeling dude is about to become a star. If they end up bringing in Johnson, it'll be interesting to see how Griffen adjusts to linebacker or some sort of hybrid, which is probably what would happen.

It's unfortunate and not related to the defense, but the cutting of Greg Childs showed me that this new staff doesn't play favorites, projects or feel good stories like we've done so much in the past. No creating a blazer package for Webb, no keeping Erin around off the strength of EJ, no sticking with guys who have shown over and over again that they're not starters. Zimmer and company are keeping it business, and that bodes well for a quick turnaround.

Griffen is going to take the next step...

I trust them Zimmer and Spiels... DE position is settled for another half a decade(barring injury)...

Not to mention, capwise we will be solid for the next couple years. the time to spend is now... I will disappointed if we don't get a top defensive free agent this offseason.

Think about it... Next year we only have to resign Fusco and Rudolph and we can either cut Greenway or Restructure... If we want, we can extend Harrison smith, Khalil, and our kicker a year early...

The cap limit will grow next year as well.

Its funny this season with our Vikings whenever you bring in a new coaching staff that always means hope for the organization:blessed: and for once in my life I feel that we have compentent people on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. Norv Turner IS an offensive genius. His QB's have always seemed to play above their head and whether thats because of schemes or talent IDK but I give it up the man knows offense. They resigned Matt Cassell so more than likely going off the way the Vikes finished the season (Matt Cassell being able to find Jennings and Pattersonunlike Ponder:pacspit:) he more than likely will be our starter this year and to be honest I am ok with that. I dont think our problems were on the offense defensively we couldnt stop a nose bleed hell we couldnt stop a paper cut with our linebackers and secondary.

So this is where our new leader Coach Zimmer comes in to play his coaching roots and immaculate, he is HUNGRY:wow: after being passed over for so long and I love when people have chips on their shoulders cause you KNOW they going to give 100% to prove everyone wrong. Mike Zimmer knows defense Vikings brehs. He is not going to play this p*ssy tampa/cover 2 bend but dont break defense. Some of us are feeling :yeshrug:on the Griffen money and I understand but I think. Zimmer has seen enough film on him to think that he can make the next step plus he is a viking draft pick so why not pay your own?

I think we going to roll with Cassell and draft the best player available with the 8th pick.If there is someone that drops in the first I know Rick will trade back up to get a player they feel strongly about. After getting burned by Ponder I dont see us drafting a QB in the first round I think Norv gets his new toy in the second round. :dj2:

A solid draft and good defensive free agent acquisitions and I can see the Vikings in the playoffs:ehh:

I really hope we can find a way to get Khalil Mack:wow:
