I honestly feel like you just pulled this random comparison outta nowhere brah:manny:. Not a lot of people know about Gibbs, and the people that do can all vouch for his talent. He's been riding the wave off of how much respect his music and flow gets honestly. I've never even heard of someone listening to a couple of his projects and saying he's wack or something so I can't even imagine a dude that is aware of his music saying Meek is better.

not that everything is about mainstream shyt, but i have no idea how you market freddie gibbs.

and this speaks to a larger point about jeezy v. rawse

everyone ricky has signed (minus pill and he got the boot quickly), there's a marketable lane for them. on the other hand, how do you market usda? a nikka named blood raw? how do you market freddie gibbs? maybe tone trump but even thats a challenge.

bawse moves v. lawse moves

As everyone had said, Meek is not better than Gibbs

But, to answer your question Rick Ross. The beats you get from being on this nikka team :wow: the club bangers :wow:

This, this right here couldn't have been said any better. Out of all the up and coming emcees to do a Gibbs comparison thread on, Meek Millz? :comeon: There shouldn't even be any discussion on who's better. Matter fact, the direction this thread went proves that Meek can't tie Gibbs shoes. This thread started off on who's better, and then morphed into which artist has the better label support and who's got the better major artist backing them.

Meek Millz at best is a C+ to B- emcee who brings absolutely nothing to the table differentiating him all the other C+ artists yet to drop an album. He's basically Pappoose.

:why:

meek had a boatload of club bangers & radio hits long before he got down with rick ross. that how he got his deals with tip and ross in the 1st place. we've been telling yall this for years.

duke couldve easily blew up years ago if he had an outlet, but the rap industry currently has a "no niccas" contract. luckily, ross & jeezy threw theirs in the bushes.

I think it's less about talent and more about association and marketing. Ross is much more determined then jeezy in regards to pushing his artist. Meek is an average, one dimensional rapper but he has tons of songs, videos, features, etc. Meanwhile, Gibbs is on some throwaway bonus track on jeezy's album and barely makes the cut on Dom Kennedy's mixtape.

i prefer gibbs but no.

meek was bigger than gibbs before either of them had deals.

and how can you try to give the credit to ross on the slick, when meek's songs have been bigger than ross' songs for the past year now, as soon as meek got on.

meek has the IT factor and even tho hes hit-or-miss to me, he knows how to make THAT song.

Being real, Meek is a tier below Gibbs. He aint really fukking with Gibbs on any aspect of this rap shyt. But Gibbs chose Jeezy, while Meek chose the Boss.:manny:

Don't think that is any kind of consensus at all...it's more like that Meek is buzzing heavy and seen as one of the better new acts, and Gibbs isn't really considered in those discussions because he isn't known/noticed enough...IMO Gibbs is clearly nicer, Meek has shown the greater ability to make hits/bangers (Meek had his city on smash before he even linked with MMG, Rose Red and the OG I'm a Boss were local/regional hits...Gibbs got whatever buzz he had on the net via blogs)...which partly explains why he's more popping...the rest is obviously because Meek's signed to Ross and Gibbs is with Jeezy...if Gibbs were on MMG, he'd likely have the game on smash...Jeezy from what I can tell, is horrible at putting his crew on

close this thread..

gibbs chose to sign with jeezy when he had all the labels coming at him....meek signed with ross, who happens to be hot right now....

i really thing gibbs should of signed with a major, but if he's happy with his choice then thats all that matters i guess.

and that wasnt a smart move.

Gibbs isnt going nowhere with Jeezy co-signing dude.

Jeezy is declining
