$78M in Four Nights for Five Nights at Freddy's: Weekend Box Office Results (Oct 27-29)

Taylor Swift has been cut down by Freddy. No, not Freddy Krueger. Freddy Fazbear. :wow: Universal's Five Nights at Freddy's, made $78M, despite releasing day and date on Peacock. :ohhh: That's the 5th biggest October weekend ever, behind Universal's Halloween and its $76.2M in 2018. It's also the 3rd biggest weekend for a horror movie, behind It's $123.4M and It: Chapter 2's: $91M. It blew away former 2023's top horror opening, Scream VI's $44.4M opening to the tune of 75.7%. Freddy Fazbear dusting Ghostface.

Taylor Swift's The Era's Tour took 2nd place with $14.7M. It's just shy of $150M with $149.3M. It becomes the 16th highest grossing movie of the year, ahead of Fast X's $145.9M. Next up is Elemental's $154.2M.

Killers of the Flower Moon took a nice lil 61.3% tumble down to $9M, to take 3rd place. It broke the $40M mark with $40.6M. That $9M is 31.8% behind Wolf of Wall Street's $13.2M second weekend. :lolbron:

Angel Studios, the studio who brought us Sound of Freedom, is back with After Death, which took 4th place with $5M.

The Exorcist: Believer, which is on-demand, closed out the top five with $3.1M in its 4th weekend. I got it in my Stremio library. I know it's supposed to be trash but it's still cool see you see another horror movie in the top five on Halloween weekend. :ehh: Its $59.3M is $9M clear of Saw X's $50.2M, making it the 7th highest grossing horror movie of the year.

Notables

John Cena's Freelance opened in 7th place with $2M. Its sales dropped each day, with no Thursday previews. Makes sense with it's B- CinemaScore.

FNAF is huge. Universal should've believed it in more

but I think it's more of a testament on how people feel about peacock then anything else :lolbron:

'Halloween' had a day and date release and did really well too. You know why? Because most people don't have Peacock. They have something like 15-20 million subs worldwide. Max has like 100 million. Disney has more than that. Netflix has way more.

Heard of the game, but didn't realize how big it was with the younger generation. Perfect timing too with the release.

Ten Nights at #1 for Five Nights at Freddy's: Weekend Box Office Results (Nov. 3-5)

It's been 10 days in a row in the #1 spot for Five Nights at Freddy's. It was down huge this weekend by 75.8% with $19.3 million. Chalk it up to being post Halloween and it being available on Peacock. However, with a $113.6M running total, FNAF passes Scream 6's $108.1M to become this year's top grossing horror movie. :ehh:

fnaf-movie-freddy-fazbear.gif

Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour held strong with $13.5M in its last weekend in theaters. Being down only 12.5% from last weekend has to have AMC doing a double take. I know The Marvels is out next week but there's millions still to mine from the Swifties before this shyt goes out of style. Oh well. $166M will have to do.

taylor-swift-cheers.gif

Killers of the Flower Moon made sure last weekend's top 3 was unchanged by selling $7M worth of tickets. That was 20.5% off of The Wolf of Wall Street's $8.8M third weekend. It's passed the $50M mark with $52.3M.

4th place belonged to Priscilla with $5M. This is the second movie in as many years to feature Elvis, played by Euphoria's Jacob Elordi. Godfather 3 ruining Sophia Coppola directed this shyt. It debuted last week but expanded to 1,359 theaters, which explains the +3,747.9% jump.

5th place went to Radical with a $2.7M opening. This is a Spanish speaking movie that only played in 419 theaters. What's it about?

A teacher in a Mexican border town full of neglect, corruption, and violence, tries a radical new method to unlock their students' curiosity, potential - and maybe even their genius.

Notables

Meg Ryan's What Happens Later made $1.5M. This is the second movie she's directed. It's a rom-com where:

Willa and Bill are ex-lovers that will see each other for the first time in years when they both find themselves snowed in, in-transit, at an airport overnight.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Taylor Swift movie is being seen by the same people over and over again :mjlol:
I'm surprised her and her team didn't drop multiple editions of the same film like she does with her albums :mjlol:

I was in Target yesterday and saw 4 different editions of the 1989 album with only difference between a different album cover and pictures in each one

The Marvels Has the MCU's Worst Opening of All Time: Weekend Box Office Results (Nov. 10-12)

Higher? Further? Faster? Together? Brie Larson has captained the sinking ship that is The Marvels all the way to the MCU's worst ever opening with a putrid $47M. That shatters the previous record holder, The Incredible Hulk's $55.1M from all the way back in 2008. It's an unbelievable 69.4% drop from Captain Marvel's $153.4M opening in 2018. :wow:

It don't stop there. The (anything but) Marvels' $110.3M global opening is less than Guardians of the Galaxy 3's $118.4M domestic opening. :wow: Its global opening barely outdid Ant-Man: Quantumania's $106.1M domestic opening. :scust: Way to put a stain on the 2023 MCU film releases.

But wait. There's more. That $47M opening is good for only the 40th best of the year. Some other notable releases ahead on the chart? The Flash and its $55M. That didn't have the benefit of a previous billion dollar earning movie preceding it. Just the stench of the recently departed DCEU. How bout some sequels? Creed lll (co-starring Kang the Conqueror himself) did $58.3M. :skip: How bout the $61M opening of Transformers: Rose of the Beasts? Fast X did $67M. John Wick 4 opened to the tune of $73.8M. Not a sequel, but we just had Five Nights at Freddy's just do $80M.

What a disaster. It got an audience B grade from CinemaScore, down from Captain Marvel's A. A complete collapse. :wow: The Marvels, with its 3 stars, bad guy, director, all 3 of its writers, composer and one of its editors, just set women in film back 50 years. :dead:

the-marvels-i-cant-can-you.gif

Five Nights at Freddy's held strong with $9M in its 3rd weekend. It's up to $127.2M, a total that The Marvels probably won't see. :wow: In fact, it moved past Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem's $118.6M into 17th place at this year's box office.

fnaf-movie-fnaf.gif

The Era's Tour made $5.9M to take 3rd place. I was under the impression that it was only playing for 4 weekends and wondered why it wouldn't play this weekend with more gas in the tank. And it did. It's $172.5M running cume moves past Mission Impossible - Dead Reckoning's $172.1M to become the 11th highest grossing movie this year.

taylor-swift-eras-tour-taylor.gif

Priscilla
brought in $4.7M to finish in the 4th spot. That was only down 4.9% from last week because of the additional screens courtesy of playing in an extra 1,002 theaters. Its $12.72M running total is less than the $12.75M Elvis made on its opening day last year.

elvis-presley-wife.gif

Marty's Killers of the Flower Moon fell to 5th place with $4.6M. It's up to $59.9M. That makes it Scorsese's 8th highest grossing movie. It's trailing Hugo's $73.8M. The Top six are all DiCaprio films with DeNiro's Cape Fear in there too.
