:snoop: yeah on paper they look scary...on the court they will look like a hot mess. IM a huge Knicks fan but those pieces don't go together

:usure: they go fine together the coach just needs to use them correct . We lookin to try and get even better defensively I applaud that . Can't wait for this season. The important thing is opening the playoffs at home. The almost completely renovated garden will be rocking

you are right. the thing I like about Brewer is he can play the 2/3 and doesn't look to score and his defense is outstanding. Put him with Shump and move Melo to the 4 and Amare to the 5.

The Empire State
We're getting out of the first round. Only way that doesn't happen is if we match up with the CHeat or Boston in the first round, and we all now that those are the top 2 teams in the conference.

We're a top 3 seed breh. Besides Mia & Bos, nobody else in the conference is better than us.

IM a Knicks fan so if it works, GREAT. I dont see it.

Here's what it looks like to me...

The Knicks realize that they have all they need in scoring. Their problem is they would get a lead... then blow it the last quarter and a half. Melo and Amare are enough to produce the bulk... then they have secondary scorers in JR, Novak, Felton, and Kidd (3 pointers)

If you notice.... EVERYONE else on the Knicks beside Melo and Amare are strictly role players. ALL OF THEM. And none of the people that they picked up are gonna take any shots away from Melo or Amare.

Kidd... at this point is just a floor general
Felton.... Same as kidd, but can score more
Chandler... Defensive anchor
Shumpert... perimeter defender, but can score and create his own shot
Brewer... Defender who can score at the basket (but not on the outside)
Camby... Defensive anchor for bench (blocks/rebounds) has a good 10 - 15 footer
JR... Shooter off the bench (probably the only player that might step out of their role)
Novak... Outside shooter
Thomas... ummmm :yeshrug:
Prigioni... 3rd string pg, just there for assists and creating shots for others
Copeland... another defender

Nobody is gonna step out of their role... they are there to do whatever their specialties are and that's it. And most of them specialize in defense, so there's no conflict with Melo or Amare. So you know what that means. The entire offense is gonna run through those 2... and the rest just need to go play defense

Still need that backup PF (kenyon martin?) because we can't be relying on kurt thomas all year. :aicmon:

Exactly what my thinKing is and I'm hoping actually having a second string pg keeps jr in check . The biggest thing people say stat ( mostly ) melo ( not as much ) struggle on d now we got pieces to help with that . Not saying they shouldn't play d but it's their weakness and we got rebounding help looking at a more complete team.

Let's be real though... we were just hoping.

Landry Fields? Fail
Baron Davis? We were hoping he would become his old self... but it wasn't happening
Toney Douglas? Pardon me I had to laugh at that
Bill Walker? Ha ha ha...
Mike Bibby? Nope... lol

Then Melo, Amare, and Chandler all got hurt during the season....

The Knicks weren't doing much last year.... and we all knew it when Lin and Amare went down, reducing the chances of them figuring out how it was all gonna come together. We were just in denial. Hoping that they could magically work together with no time, ailing players, and underperforming role players.

We were typical fans

I dig what your saying, I just think that when you have a pick & roll PG and PF but then u have a SF who likes to take people off the dribble it doesn't mesh well.

Not only does Melo hold the rock but the other players don't move around to get open once he gets the ball.

I would love for all this to work out but forgive me if my optimism is gone, IM not going off paper anymore...I need to see it first. (this is coming from a dude who swore Eddy Curry was gonna be an all-star when we got him)

We have real PGs now so they can direct rest of the team . We shouldnt be standing around and they can get stat + melo in their spots. Will it work idk but melo plays better with PGs who can pass and direct the offense.
