Um, we have a minimum wage because to be truthful an employer will pay you the lowest amount they can get away with paying you. Be thankful you got that $7.00 and be smart enough to stay out of retail and actually pursue jobs with a path to advancement.

If I ever had a business that large, I would pay above market. A company like Wal-Mart or Walgreens could easily pay $13 instead of $7 and barely notice the increase......but, their workers would actually be motivated to work harder and keep their jobs. Im far removed from retail jobs and I still feel that way.

Hell yea he's forreal...

On an average day, a Target store makes $60, 000 to $70, 000 per day.

Wal-Mart around $80, 000 - $90, 000.

I've heard from someone that use to manage a Kroger that their store raked in over $100, 000 per day.

And we not even talking about what these individual stores make during the holidays....

Retail = Modern day slavery.
No wonder them nikkas always go ham with the Christmas and Thanksgiving advertisements.

Hell yea he's forreal...

On an average day, one Target store makes $55,000 to $70,000 per day.

A Wal-Mart, around $80,000 - $100,000 per day.

I've heard from someone that use to manage at a Kroger that their individual store raked in over $100,000 K per day.

I don't know how true that Kroger sales figure is but I know for a fact, Target and Wal-Marts make A LOT of doe per day, but pay their employees minimum wage or close to it.

And we not even talking about what these individual stores make during the holidays, SMH....

Well coming from a guy that worked in bestbuy for 2 years (worst 2 years of my life) I wouldn't even touch retail.
I made very little to no money and i completely hated coming to work. One hot August day I just said fukk it and quit on the spot and it was the best decision I made in my life. Hey I had no car no money and bytches gave me that :upsetfavre: look but I finished school n started a career and now I'm making 5x more than those idiot co workers at bestbuy who drank the koolaid and decided to stick it out. Till this day I can't even step inside a bestbuy because of my experiences working there. DON'T DO IT.

i remember coming to work one day like "i swear, if this nikka says one more fukking thing.....:comeon: "

i aint make it to lunch breh :whew:

That was June....my aunt knew somebody that knew somebody and I was down Tennessee at school by August :win:

in a week most retail stores make enough money to pay all the drones for the entire year that work at the store. then they have the nerve to pay managers 50K a year to watch those drones work and do nothing.

fukk working a regular retail job. its the definition of dead end job. its not a stepping stone to anything its just spinning your tires in the mud going nowhere.

the retail jobs out here don't even pay you enough money to pay rent and live decently. there are mainly two types of employees at a big box retail store people that are just part of the turnover churn and will be there a year or less mostly under 6 months and lifers. the lifers bytch and complain but they'll work there a huge chunk of their working adult lives if not all of it.

this thread makes me sad...it is horrible to think how these corporations do their employees and the sad thing is this is all part of a system to keep working class in poverty...like the movie out of time...

I get paid a decent amount but I am sure my manager makes double what all her employees make....a few months ago she had to go out of the country and they had another woman come in from out of state to help out the office when she left...the woman sat there and chit chatted on the phone all day and listened to music...

the stand in manager said that she does not know what she does here all day...and she feels like a high paid baby sitter... she only confirmed what I was saying all those months...

Retail is only good for when your in school or trying to earn some extra bread, but as your sole source of income :rudy:

that's what the typical retail manager is. they're basically paid to collect a check. they delegate and sit on their asses much of the time. they push their work on the lower level managers or to the regular employees. thing is all these stores really need are those lover level managers. everybody knows what they're supposed to do and typically if they're a good employee they do it so the higher up managers end up doing nothing most of the day.

imagine if they got rid of all those higher level managers in these stores and better compensated their low level workers. productivity would soar and the stores would function better.

back when i worked retail out high level managers got bonuses that wore worth more than half our annual pay for making goals.

My manager used to always have me count up the drawers & drop the take at the end of the night......one day I looked at the screen and saw the store (Walgreens) made $35,000 that day. 30 g's nikka. That's $12.8 million over the year. Call it an even $12 million to account for days the take was low. [/I]

I've worked a couple of warehouse jobs before but the thing is I've only been able find temp work with those jobs. I've never been able to find a full time gig with those types of jobs.

Temp jobs are the usually the only way to break through. Agencies should tell you how likely you are to get hired before sending you. Just make yourself valuable from the jump and a supervisor will do what he can to hire you. You get good overtime in a warehouse too.
