Omega says that he's taking a back seat in AEW and he just wants to help out younger stars

fair enough but if we want to then break down what’s dumb. Then this whole thing or topic is crazy:mindblown:

Let’s reset this a bit for proper context and fukk the tag matches where it’s a team thing.

In the grande scheme of things, dude has had like 12 singles matches but lost 3 (Y2J, Pac, Moxley).

But we over here pretty much making a big fuss over him losing THREE singles matches in essentially a year and saying that he’s needs to do better?

3 single matches but he’s being booked so badly?

Is this really what we doing? :heh:

He's not close to their n°1 guy right now. He should be. It ain't rocket science.

He's lost every major match he's had in AEW. Who cares if he beats bums like Joey Janela on their youtube show. He shouldn't be wrestling them in the first place. He's James Harden in the playoffs status.

This mothafukka had a 2-1-1 record against Okada in New Japan. And double talk Dave says the plan was for Omega to retain against Okada at MSG. He's went from elite (no pun) booking to vintage WWE booking that gets no one over. "But but but if he won all the time then nerds online would say he's putting himself over like Jeff Jarrett". Who gives a shyt...you book what's best for the product. Stop worrying about what wreddit basement dwellers think.

They've dropped the ball on this. You don't have to be a WWE stooge to acknowledge it.
I think he only dropped the ball on himself by giving up the sweeper gimmick and being overly animated in matches. He went 2-1 against Moxley because Moxley is the next person to be champ after Jericho. They're setting up a feud. And he, I believe beat PAC and then loss meaning that his record is still at the top 4 in standings. NJPW has their champs in Okada, Ibushi and Naito like AEW is developing a top core in Moxley, PAC and ??? Scorpio Sky, Hangman Page, Pentagon Jr., Cody and Jericho.

Those are literally the only guys he's either putting over or pushing. He's not Triple Kaitch or Jeff Jarrett and that's what keeps AEW fresh. The unpredictability in who will come out on top.

Omega will eventually win the belt but if you pay attention to NJPWs storyline. Their top guys had to fight their way to the top. The belt wasn't just offered to them. Some of the guys they were building on had to lose multiple times then pull out a win. It's not WWE or TNA.

There's not many people on the roster that can go full speed with Kenny. There's Pac and a couple others.

I said before Pentagon and Fenix should be singles stars who occasionally tag.
I think Pentagon and Scorpio will get those next pushes. Matterfact, I'd love to see them feud for the belt sometime in the future. Hangman is kinda overrated to me. He's like a great value brand Stone cold/DDP hybrid.

I didn’t say he was #1:whoa:

THE CHAMP IS and this isn’t like I’m done others companies where the champ is second fiddle to 1-3 other guys:hubie:

He only lost like 3 singles matches and he i the top 5 with;
Jericho
Pac
Moxley
And maybe Cody

Have to agree with the general consensus here.

Why is Omega talking like a 10 time champ who's been the main guy for 5+ years? AEW has barely been on TV for 3 months. They need a star, and he's the biggest one they have (EDIT - bar Jericho). They're trying not to be too much like WWE by having the "established" guys go over all the younger talent, but they need to use their biggest names and establish them as the best to a TV audience that isn't necessarily aware of them or know exactly what they're about. They're going too far in the other direction and that won't help them.

I feel you

But usually on NJPW they have like 1 guy cut a promo :usure:

*cough*

*cough*

and that’s at the end of the show.

In LU Ricochet wore a mask and for 4 seasons spoke only one time and was over as fukk... the combination of his work there and his match against O’Spreay propelled him to where is his today.

Eli Drake and EC3 are great at promo’s and y’all treat them like shyt:russ:

I don’t take great stock in that like some may:lolbron:

And that’s the problem there. In a situation like this you have to be selfish and think about yourself if you are going to help others around you. It’s not like Kenny is a 5 time AEW champion who has been the focus of the show for 3 years straight. Dude went from having main events at wrestle kingdom to giving his heat to everyone left and right at aew.

I say the only reason aew truly had a chance is because of the first Okada and omega match and the rest was history. Sure people like Cody and the young bucks but Kenny and all of his momentum is why a lot of people went further into the wrestling world besides wwe.

and now he’s on a larger USA audience scale with the help of tnt with a lot of viewers who don’t know most of his previous work and instead of showing them what worked in new Japan he felt like just one of the guys in 2019.

Well said! Yup. There's levels to this shyt, and If the Elite think they were on level 3, they skipped 2. You parlay your international acclaim into a National acclaim first, THEN you are high enough in the world to start propping up the nobodies.
