Philly. Fucc a Eagle. I mean dat.
But check it - had they put the belt on him initially and gave him the Jericho run then the narrative would be “oh here goes the EVP’s putting themselves over at the expense of the talent”, “Lol look at these dudes getting their Jeff Jarrett on :russ: “ shyt like that. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

I disagree. TNT had actual talent there.
Besides Moxley and the Bucks.
Who is a legit superstar? Him being champ is a win and new talent gets the run facing him.

I respect it but I think you have to take that position after helping establish AEW's own tier system in regards to the roster. Building yourself up for a year and then allowing yourself to be taken down could help establish newer generations, and it'd help AEW in the now for ratings, and if anything Kenny can help bridge the NJPW x AEW partnership with great matches on US TV. But if he was booked too well then it'd be a "all up in the videos" type of thing.

He still has utility and he doesn't have to be the top guy in the company to be properly utilized and fulfill his current goals.

I mean... it's not like he's letting weak guys like Sammy Guevara get wins over him. I mean, I have more weight, definition, size and muscle mass than him if I took a month off and only ate fast food.

He takes bumps to Moxley and PAC who are very talented. Hangman Page is wack to me though.

He's lost every major match he's had in AEW. Who cares if he beats bums like Joey Janela on their youtube show. He shouldn't be wrestling them in the first place. He's James Harden in the playoffs status.

This mothafukka had a 2-1-1 record against Okada in New Japan. And double talk Dave says the plan was for Omega to retain against Okada at MSG. He's went from elite (no pun) booking to vintage WWE booking that gets no one over. "But but but if he won all the time then nerds online would say he's putting himself over like Jeff Jarrett". Who gives a shyt...you book what's best for the product. Stop worrying about what wreddit basement dwellers think.

They've dropped the ball on this. You don't have to be a WWE stooge to acknowledge it.

I'mma just say it:

Kota got the juice now.

It's like that last run together and the separation left Kota powered up and Kenny deteriorating. I think maybe part of him felt like he finished a chapter with the reuniting and stuff, and he just ain't as hungry to be seen as 'the best' anymore in a company where no one wrestles the style and duration of those NJPW prestige matches at a level where he feels threatened. Bruh needs a rival to be great. And he doesn't have one in AEW.

Kenny Omega's current mindset is EXACTLY why AEW needs a mid-card title (TV, perhaps) that he can hold and establish as "the Best Bout title" by having PIFF matches with the young up-and-coming folks to help them get over and eventually be groomed toward stardom, and after establishing that division as the source for the true one-on-one classics, he can move on and be AEW champion.

AEW is still a company in its infancy. This is a good mindset to have, especially knowing that at any time -- and Omega has low-key been mack trucking people lately -- he could go back to the main event and not miss a beat.

Considering that -- as another person pointed out -- AEW is consistently beating the BEST POSSIBLE LIVE TV PRODUCT that the WWE can put out despite not truly shoving its main people down the viewers' throats, they're in good shape.

Yeah this is a stupid mindset, how can he elevate people if we’ve only seen him as a loser (in AEW). :francis:

Dude is in his prime, he should be doing this after his second or third run with the title

People complained about Cena because he was beating other legit stars like Punk and running over everyone

You’re just an AEW shill breh, nothing against you, but it’s possible to be a fan while still criticizing certain aspects of the show/brand :yeshrug:

That’s not true and you know it..... Cena beating using your example CM Punk was deep into his run. Plus for a long minute they wasnt even on the same Brands as Cena was a staple on RAW and Punk was doinf his thing on Smackdown

I don’t feel like Kenny’s been turned on as much as we’ve been calling a spade a spade :manny: he’s definitely lacking the same vigor he had in NJPW, he’s definitely been cooled off momentum wise, and he definitely lost a lot of the same aura he had only a couple years ago. Nobody is really saying outright sucks or anything crazy, but to go from one of the biggest non WWE names in the entire world to wrestling Joey Janella in a dark match by CHOICE is a pretty staggering decision breh.
Exactly, Dude has been looking and acting like a bytch smh

People will complain regardless? Yes.

It's a dumb fukking decision to not have the biggest star outside of WWE to become anything but the face and main star of a brand new company that wants to do big in the U.S? Also yes.

I legit don't understand the "bu bu bu if they won then other folk would complain about hogging the spotlight"...who gives a flying fukk, it's about making the smart business decision.

Making Omega a version of mid 2010's Jericho is fukking stupid.

fair enough but if we want to then break down what’s dumb. Then this whole thing or topic is crazy:mindblown:

Let’s reset this a bit for proper context and fukk the tag matches where it’s a team thing.

In the grande scheme of things, dude has had like 12 singles matches but lost 3 (Y2J, Pac, Moxley).

But we over here pretty much making a big fuss over him losing THREE singles matches in essentially a year and saying that he’s needs to do better?

3 single matches but he’s being booked so badly?

Is this really what we doing? :heh:
