I'm Everywhere you ain't never there
My biggest concern is how “All In” is the guy investing in this company. The bolded are the two problems, and why I think people need to pump the breaks. Wrestling writers are just fans with a louder voice and bigger platform, and like most fans, they've caught on that the times when WWE was at its best is when they had competition that could be seen as on, or close to their level. So, they've built this expectation that AEW is gunning for WWE right out the gate.
But if you listen to what the AEW guys have been saying so far, it kind of paints a different picture. There's a whole lot of "We don't know" and "We're figuring that out" about details like whether some of these contracts fully exclusive, what their schedule past the first three shows will be, etc.
To an extent, you want the media and your fans to do your promoting for you based off speculation, but there also comes a time when you need to reel that shyt in and set expectations to avoid disappointment.
There are really people out here thinking they're about to jump out the gate with a live show on a major cable network.
I want them to succeed, but I'm with you in that I have no clue what success actually means for them outside of selling out shows.
With Vince wwe was his life, he had to go down with the ship if it got to that point.
Like let’s say AEW has a year like wwf did in 93-95 where they are looking like they could go bankrupt. Will this dude be willing to ride it out or will he say F this and cut his loses to focus on his other business?
Vince ain’t have nothing else he had to make wwe work. A guy like this and like Ted turner or mark Cuban or whoever didn’t grow up I’m the business. They are just looking to make some money, they aren’t going to lose money for too long. AEW almost has to be a success out the gate for them to even have a chance
