Yeah him and Okada went ahead and told the "Rocky" story in a wrestling ring, w Ibushi and the Bucks as Adrian :dame:. The fact that they are both great athletes in the prime only put the icing on the cake :wow: They both said that they left out ideas for another match. :damn: We'll probably get it when they're both washed :beli:

That's something that I feel today's dudes don't get, 1000 cool moves with no story means no one will give a fukk about your match. :yeshrug:

Yeah they should have at least did the msg show, could have gave them more momentum going into double or nothing.

I fully believe that Omega will work NJPW again in the near future.

I think that AEW won't launch with anywhere near the success people want or expect, and at that point, NJPW will be comfortable with having Omega come through for a guest spot/run.

shyt, he could fukk around and show up next Saturday at MSG to ask Okada to run him his fade again, for all we know.

It will be huge inside the wrestling community, because whether you want to or not you cant really consume wrestling in any way with out hearing or someone referring to AEW.

I think because it has so much hype, unless this double or nothing show is complete garbage, they will come out the gate strong, whether or not that sustains a year later is another thing though..

The curiousity of how the show will be different or better than wwe will have a large portion of wwe fans tuning in and some of the people that have gave up on wwe will all tune in in some way.

I agree with all that.

Problem is, we're a couple months removed them saying this is a thing, and we have no idea what the show is, or how it'll be available to make any calls on how it's going to be so different.

There's just too much left uncertain at this stage to know that they're really going to hit like that out of the gate.

shyt, they were talking about how at some point in the future they plan on being a full touring company.

They really, REALLY need to start feeding more info before their buzz dies.

The question is what is considered successful for them? they already sold out their show,

They will be fine going into Double or nothing, their success after that depends on how well that show does, and if they can get a good tv deal, for now I suspect they will be on fite tv app and they will be streamed heavily on youtube to keep the buzz up

I didnt think the show had any buzz until the last month or so, when every time I turn around there is mention of AEW, I dont follow any of them on social media or go out of my way looking for information on them, shyt I dont even go in the thread on here.
but I saw all in and I am atleast curious to see how this second show plays out, I think the majority of us are going to watch just to see what they have to offer, regardless of how much info they put out.

All the so called wrestling journalist and news sites talk about them enough to keep interest up until the show

Yeah im not excited about AEW at all. I never fukked with the elite guys outside of Omega and Ibushi if he counts anyway. :yeshrug: Their type of humor ain't for me at all :hhh:

The bolded are the two problems, and why I think people need to pump the breaks. Wrestling writers are just fans with a louder voice and bigger platform, and like most fans, they've caught on that the times when WWE was at its best is when they had competition that could be seen as on, or close to their level. So, they've built this expectation that AEW is gunning for WWE right out the gate.

But if you listen to what the AEW guys have been saying so far, it kind of paints a different picture. There's a whole lot of "We don't know" and "We're figuring that out" about details like whether some of these contracts fully exclusive, what their schedule past the first three shows will be, etc.

To an extent, you want the media and your fans to do your promoting for you based off speculation, but there also comes a time when you need to reel that shyt in and set expectations to avoid disappointment.

There are really people out here thinking they're about to jump out the gate with a live show on a major cable network. :heh:

I want them to succeed, but I'm with you in that I have no clue what success actually means for them outside of selling out shows.

idk man as the days go by I look at AEW like :ld: Omega/Penta/Fanix are the only ones I'm feeling. I would prefer to see Omega run that back with Fenix or Pentagon than see him vs Jericho again. :yeshrug:
Outside of the Elite, Jericho and Lucha Bros, I'll admit there's not much there at the moment. At their C2E2 panel Kenny said AEW is investing in talent that they think has potential down the line. :manny: They do need more "names" and top-tier talent, but I'm not sure how that's possible since most everyone is signed somewhere. Hopefully once they get TV and tour regularly that talent with "potential" starts paying off.
