Ok my saying Embiid can miss half of the season was probably overstating it and probably not a good idea when it comes to team cohesion and consistency and building an identity and momentum toward the postseason. I don’t blame the team or Embiid for trying to think of how to have him healthy for the postseason. Has he ever been healthy in a postseason? Kawhi missed a quarter of the regular season games for Toronto and Shaq was missing his share doing LA’s three-peat so I actually think there’s some precedent for the strategy.Thats a false choice. Just because they have failed in the past doesn't mean this is a good idea.
If they cant make it through the regular season, chances are they cant make it through a playoff run. Injuries are not something you can avoid like that. They just happen...especially for injury prone nikkas. Point is, either they got it or they dont. Putting them in shrink wrap on the shelf aint helping anything. We have never seen any of these "just get to the playoffs" teams win it all.
