I've been thinking of this lately. Feel free to discuss/add on.
  • Scott Hall: mic skills, legit 6'7, was just "cool" face or heel
  • William Regal: technical beast, great character, worked in the ring as well as a out of ring character
  • Monty Brown: the pounce was hugely over in its day
  • Lance Storm: enough said
  • Owen Hart: enough said
  • Bob Holly: could easily see him being the one doing the Marine gimmick if he was younger
  • Kane: 1996 version today would be the top heel in the business

No to all of the above.

Monty Brown was horrible in the ring. The Pounce was only over in the Gympact Zone, breh. No one misses Monty Brown.

I'm a Lance Storm fan, but he wouldn't be a main eventer today either. He was top notch in the ring, but his charisma was lacking terribly. There are guys who are more charismatic than him stuck in the mid-card right now.

Bob Holly :comeon:

1996 Kane's gimmick wouldn't work today...especially without a Paul Bearer to put him over.

I'll give you Scott Hall, Owen Hart and William Regal. I was hesitant about Regal, but I think he could get over today.

This is all almost word for word what I was gonna say except I was gonna hit Bob Holly with the :scusthov: face instead.

Outside of The Man's Man gimmick, Regals has always found a way to get over and done so in 3 different era's when he has been actually pushed.

Terrible list.

For one, Scott Hall was a semi-main eventer anyway. He main evented PPVs with Bret Hart for the WWF Championship, so he really isn't a "mid-carder"

Monty Brown :russ:

Bob Holly :rudy:

Kane? Breh Kane was WWF Champion in the attitude era, and is a main eventer when they need him to be. He isn't a "mid-carder"

I think you need to go back and define mid-carder - Val Venis, Godfather, Road Dogg, X-Pac, D'Lo Brown, Jeff Jarrett - these are examples of mid card guys in the attitude era.

"Old school" - Tito Santana, Rick Martel, I.R.S., Honky Tonk, Greg Valentine, etc...
