'What did we just watch?': The bronze that broke USA Basketball
A third-place finish at the 2004 Athens Games wasn't just viewed as a failure -- it forced USA Basketball to rethink everything.
Do they win gold?
This is a wild take. You cant use peak from a guy who was an allstar level player maybe 5/6 seasons of his career. This is disrespectful to Tatum. No he’s not. Tatum is really good, but at this point he isn’t better than peak Grant Hill. Peak Grant Hill was giving Jordan and Pippen trouble.
These arent junior high players. Tatum will be fine if his number is called and I wouldnt bank on them getting consecutive bad games from the bench. The problem with starting KD now, is you’ve decimated the bench thru your own fukkery
You’ve reduced Booker to a 3&D. Plus you have him starting. Before this tourney it would make all the sense to have book off the bench instant oftense. That’s now gone.
You’ve clipped Tatum’s nuts so can’t rely on him
Jrue isn’t offensive like that and Dereck White isn’t either. So can’t rely on either of them
AD and Bam are bigs who don’t create their own.
So now your entire bench firepower is Ant.
Could be nothing, but something to keep an eye on once they go to the bench. What no one takes into account is legs. We shouldn’t even have to think about depth with all this talent but if we lose ground with the bench unit Bron, KD, Steph will dominate minutes and we lose what should be an advantage. And then fatigue becomes a factor they spent a TON of mental and emotional energy out the other night and they are old
I was responding to someone saying Tatum was better than all the NBA wings in the 90s.This is a wild take. You cant use peak from a guy who was an allstar level player maybe 5/6 seasons of his career. This is disrespectful to Tatum.
Funny cause I was just reading about the 2002 team that finished 6th at the World Championships. Interesting that they were both coached by two like-minded coaches in George Karl and Larry Brown and how both coaches threw their teams under the bus and never took any accountability.![]()

It's not that serious breh. This is the gold medal game. There's no other games left after this. The problem with starting KD now, is you’ve decimated the bench thru your own fukkery
