My Pops Forever RIP
Yeah the U.S. talent advantage is finna narrow considerably. They can still win golds but it'll require a much more cohesive development/training etc., program. They figured it out between '04 and '08 but now the Millenial superstars are old. Gen Z got next.

They gotta adapt again.
Like how the women do it? :ohhh:

Just imagine the think pieces if they lost. What would have been the fatal flaw?

To me it’s something I’ve noticed in the Olympics and in the similar format the all star game: The death of the point guard.

These new era players—-especially guards—- were made by trainers. There is no ingenuity, nothing off script, no improvisation, no charisma. It’s the guards that are supposed to dictate an all star game but we no longer have true PGs.

Incoming rant… it’s kinda low key, but the PG position is going the way of the center. There’s a notion that the team has enough guards so they don’t need to add Brunson or Kyrie, but there are no traditional old school style/sized PGs. Steph is basically a 2. Jrue is a combo and he’s also 6’4. Halliburton is 6’5. And now Derek white who’s 6’5. There is and was space for Brunson or Kyrie.

The 08 team had cp3, Kidd, and Deron Williams.

The ‘12 team had cp3, Russ, and Deron

But now that the CAcaltyics have the game and the traditional PG archetype—-which is one position white boys can’t really play—- is being destroyed.

blind spot in the American game; there are no PGs. No one else capable of being a table setter a la Cp3, Kidd, etc

If Lebron isn’t playing they get waxed. He’s the only one with the IQ to get them into their stuff and control play. It’s a problem in the years to come

Why they not putting Tatum in? He 1st team 3 seasons is a row. :dwillhuh:

@Raquinotj

Steve Kerr is a Jackass. Nothing to do with ability of the players he’s randomly sitting each game. Booker played 24 minutes and scored 2 baskets. You been barking at this tree for minute, can’t cope with the fact Tatum matched Paul Pierce’s rings and surpassed his accolades before he hit his prime.

Coachin staff a disaster. Obviously individually they great coaches but collabin they aint got a clue. We coulda put up any coachin staff and it same shyt. Coach K was different from these bums.

Serbia was whoopin us 1st half and KD had 1 shot attempt. Our best player takin 1 shot in a half and wonderin why offense stunk and we was down.
