I don't agree. Their parents knew better and if anything, this reaction is showing so.Because many of them matured during the Obama presidency and actually believe that there was something called a post-racial era (because people older than them fed them that lie). Instead of Obama being the anomaly, he's now the norm.
Chubba was born in 99. To think that his coach was incapable of this act leads me to believe he feels like his coach was actually a better person than this. It's a major assumption on my part. I just don't understand why he thinks the man that's wearing that shirt is different from the man who walked into his living room (look at the phrasing: "insensitive" to "what's going on in society")
It keeps bothering me because that means that everyday it requires a new white person to commit a new racist act to awaken a new black person. It's an unsustainable factor to build a movement on and gives power to the idea that concealing racism is a winning strategy.

Chuba's a biracial Canadian kid from a province with a tiny black population. Wouldnt be surprised if moving down south changed his political perspective.Because many of them matured during the Obama presidency and actually believe that there was something called a post-racial era (because people older than them fed them that lie). Instead of Obama being the anomaly, he's now the norm.

I have to keep remind myself that these are just kids and for many of them this is their first time actually understanding what racism is.

All props to him though, gutsy stand.
