You’re assuming the Raiders didn’t try and go after that money because of the void and him essentially violating the contract.
once you void the contract you cant go after the bonus, thats the only thing guaranteed and paid upfront.

he was released pretty quickly after the accident

He ain't lying lol

But this is coming from a nikka that did 9 years for MOST LIKELY killing two people.

Ruggs will do 3, stay in shape and get back in the league
Football is not that easy to play unfortunately
You cannot be out of the NFL for 5+ full seasons, not playing any type of organized football at all and just come back
There is a massive, massive difference between being in shape and actually practicing and running plays in pads consistently
He would be what 28-29 trying to get back? Never happening

CFL or XFL (if that's still around) maybe

That's not how it works exactly considering his actions were the reason that the contract was voided in the first place. If you violate the terms of the contract, then the team has every right to go after that signing bonus or at least a portion of it. Now whether the Raiders choose to do so is on them.

The fact that it hasn't been really talked about leads one to believe that they chose not to.

He did 9 for talking back his own memorabilia get it straight
We know this nikka.

You do know that the state of California gave him his memorabilia back AFTER he did his time, right?

Isn't that something, to do 9 years only to have California give you that stuff back when you get out of prison branded a felony?

I'll tell you what, since you didn't bother to READ the article I posted about Gil Garcetti talking about OJ sentence being HARSH and that it was "payback" for the Brentwood murders, ill post it for you.

Nah, Google it

The difference with examples like Stallworth and Little is they weren’t sentenced to years in prison.

The most optimistic outcome has Ruggs being released in two years. After that, he’ll have to file a petition for reinstatement, which means at minimum he could possibly be free to return to the NFL in 3 + years.

It will be next to impossible for Ruggs to return to NFL level ability and conditioning after such a lengthy time off. His NFL career is pretty much over, bruh. Regardless

People are also forgetting that it was reported that he suffered leg and other injuries from the crash and won't have the luxury of NFL medical resources to rehab the injuries sustained, so he might even move the same once he's out of jail.

they didnt pursue it because they had no chance of winning, once they released him they gave up any leverage against ruggs. once released all bonus money immediately counts against the cap. any future bonuses like roster bonuses and stuff like that obviously was gone for ruggs.

now that ruggs is convicted maybe they'll go after him but the reality is the money is most likely all gone, you're paying expensive lawyers to recoup money from a guy who wont have any money or any money making potential for years.

The year is 2023 and people still think OJ didn't commit murder.
:pachaha:
Exactly I could see if this was mid 90s … a lot more people believed oj was innocent back then but present times it’s ridiculous to think hes innocent I feel sorry for the gulliable people who got manipulated by oj defence team yeah that means Jonny too Cause they couldn’t even point it in another direction if it wasn’t oj :bryan:
