Well how come no one called out the producer and director?

Girl bye. You drummed up your own "problematic elements". Their relationship developed because they spent a lot of time together. She certainly didn't' set out to be the president's mistress. If the two lead characters were black, it'd still be an interesting show. The fact that the real president of the United States is black is the reason I'm glad they didn't choose a black president.
