The irrational UConn women's fans have been in their feelings about Hannah ever since she came in last year and outplayed Paige in front of all those legends and then treated Taurasi like a fan afterwards

paige/azzi stans are just very irrational on twitter. paige's development has plateaued, azzi might be damaged goods, and uconn is not winning a ring this year - they should be more concerned with that.
They see the writing on the wall and are starting to lash out. Even with Paige and Strong, no one is confident to say that UConn is the best team because of not only the drop off in talent after those two, but Geno's All Lives Matter offense being dog for when the going gets tough.
Geno is lucky parity hasn't hit the women's college game yet and these girls coming out of high school still care about going to UConn/SC/ND/etc.
Hannah also gets hate because she reposted some Candace Owens video saying gay marriage is a sin on Instagram a few months ago.
So that section of the Women's basketball fans don't like her because of it.
ESPN reporter Sarah Spain said it is hard to celebrate Hannah's success, but she's 19 and grew up in a religious family. How is a grown woman holding that against her, i'm not sure what they are expecting.

They are very concerned about winning a title this year. They are just fighting a war on two different fronts. They want Paige to win a title for herself to secure her legacy amongst the all time greats in UConn and NCAA history and for Geno to end his longest NCAA championship drought. They feel like the injuries to both Azzi and Paige allowed others like Caitlin come in a "steal" Paige's shine she had when she was NPOY as a freshmen. Even though Caitlin is gone, they now have to deal with both Hannah and Juju (who has both outplayed her) taking the spotlight away from Paige. UConn as a team still has to deal with South Carolina who has owned them lately.

Yeah UConn "fans" can be annoying when it comes to Hannah(they arent really UConn fans they weird ass confused teenage girls who discovered Paige/Azzi through tiktok and dgaf about basketball they just have a crush). Like why are u spending your Christmas on Hannah's IG live spamming comments about UConn then getting mad when she responds? The WBB space and the "influencers" in it in general have a lot of bad faith holier than thou self righteous energy when it comes to Hannah because she shared a IG story about gay marriage being a sin so now they gotta lie to themselves about her ability as a basketball player and where she stands in the current college landscape
Also, im not ready to completely write off UConn's season in December just because they lost a close game when they clawed back from 18 points and got a 1 point lead late in the 4th, they just have to start games with more urgency so they aren't fighting from behind, they're better off learning from these mistakes now than in March
And let's keep in mind the same Notre Dame team that beat them lost to an unranked Utah and a TCU team that got violated by SC
UConn's biggest issue is gonna be health and whether or not Paige develops that killer instinct in big matchups, and if she doesnt then Geno is going to need to make the decision to prepare for these next 4 years and play through future NPOY Sarah Strong
