Rapper Young Moose Speaks About $300K Settlement in Baltimore Crooked Cop Case

Baltimore rapper Young Moose is $300,000 richer now that the city of Baltimore's reached a settlement with him over a dirty cop who was caught planting crack on him back in 2012.

Young Moose joined "TMZ Live" Wednesday in hopes his situation would help uncover other potentially corrupt police officers, and their victims, in the Baltimore area. He filed a lawsuit last March against the city and several Baltimore cops ... most notably, Daniel Hersl.

The saga surrounding Hersel, formerly a member of the city's Gun Trace Task Force, is at the center of the HBO series "We Own This City" ... and actor Josh Charles plays the crooked cop.

Really good miniseries. The show did a great job showing how fragile Black folks everyday lives are when the cop took that brother's fukkin paycheck.

A bullshyt arrest can ruin your job prospects.

It also showed how police think they are the hero's of their own story.

A lot of moving parts in this. Gotta re watch.

He wrote an essay about all the info they got on Sean Suiter being a suicide. It's a long read, but it's pretty convincing to me.

Pelecanoas pretty much said on a podcast recorded after the finale that they had the evidence to suggest it went down how it looked but he didn't wanna go further out of respect for Suiter's family.

But it looks like Simon got tired of the BS and laid out everything they knew.

It's a shame that he felt like he needed to take his own life, but this isn't the conspiracy some need it to be to make them feel better about what went down.

The first episode’s pacing threw me off, seemed a little rushed at first…but after watching the series in it’s entirety, perfect pacing. I fukks with the time jumps as well.

Another classic from David Simon. This and Show Me A Hero from a accuracy standpoint is ridiculous. Watching the shows, in my head I’m thinking they gotta be exaggerating shyt just a bit, but then you find the real life clips….reality is stranger than fiction.

I’m not naive or anything to how shyt is. And foul is foul regardless of background, but anytime seeing black cops fukk with ordinary black citizens, specifically old heads…it goes past viewing them as vile corrupt cops….them nikkas is c00ns. The show got me heated quite a few times.

I can see you initially being indoctrinated thru training, peer pressure, culture to participate in some violating fukk shyt….but after a while as a grown man/adult….as a black man(or woman)…ain’t no legitimate excuse or reason to 1) succumb to that shyt 2) check other people who try to pull that shyt.

I know a few black officers, and in convo, some of them admit to some bullshyt they did early in their careers due to field training, pressure, some of it just being them being from the hood themselves…so to adopt that gang culture that the police have came easy (violating somebody cause they mean mugging you as an example) but at a certain point most of them say they realize they were outta pocket for no reason….fukk all that “oh it’s the culture” “I’m trained that way” etc etc bullshyt. Have a fukking spine, and some sense and move accordingly.

Six figures and Wayne still wanted to sell drugs on the side and rob drug dealers.

Like wow man, slow the fukk down just wasn’t in the cards :wow:
They was double dipping in their stealing.

Stealing from the citizens and stealing OT from the taxpayers. They was just greedy as fukk on both ends

Really really dope show. Not for a moment did I feel it was boring.

See how in the end that cat in jail in disgust said to Jenkins "aint you that cop from Baltimore?" and Jenkins still kept his head up high like he's a somebody? Great stuff.
