You think this is Watchmen's second season or something? I brought up Westworld because their budget is huge yet ratings not anywhere near a GoT, which is close to what a show with that budget is expected to do. HBO spent a ton of money per episode for shows like Deadwood and Rome which both got multiple seasons despite less than stellar ratings. We still don't know what Watchmen's per episode cost is, but HBO has a history of not only being unafraid of spending but also having their critically acclaimed shows gain in popularity over seasons. Lastly, the numbers the articles are citing are live viewers, not the streaming numbers or people watching later airings.DARK MATERIALS IS ON ITS 1ST SEASON
AND WESTWORLD HAD THE MOST VIEWERS
OF ANY 1ST SEASON IN HBO HISTORY.
IM NOT SURE HOW THIS HELPS YOUR POINT.

You shouldn't be any more lost than the rest of us. Some of us have a better understanding...but to say that we're not also lost inside of this new world is lying.this is the first ep I can say if you haven't read/watched Watchmen, you're gonna be lost/not catch all the easter eggs
I was gonna say that the show doesn't go anywhere near as crazy as the movie when it comes to CGI and effects. The buffalo and the explosion at the funeral might have been the most expensive shyt in the last episode. Editing might be a bigger part of their budget. The Watchman does not look expensive to produce. The CGI shots may cost a buck or two but the overall set pieces look minimal.
The only thing that should be confusing to anyone, comic familiar or not, is Veidt's story. The rest is a pretty straightforward conspiracy/mystery storyYou shouldn't be any more lost than the rest of us. correct. All plot points from the comic are being unveiled as they become necessary to the current plot. Some plot points have been repeated out of necessityThe only thing that should be confusing to anyone, comic familiar or not, is Veidt's story. None of this matters because Lindelof already said a second season is guaranteed before this season even started. He said all the questions will be answered in one season. In my opinion, he'll get to do a second season if he feels like it. If you think HBO would cancel the show even if he wants to make a second season, then we simply disagree

that’s not what he’s saying @ all...he didn’t say one would be completely lost as in they wouldn’t understand the show just that they’d be “lost” as far as not catching any of the easter eggs...this was the first ep that had so many peppered thru out the show...seems like he was just making a fair observation
I quoted you but I wasn't really talking to youI wasn't talking about me!
The only things I'm not sure about with the clues we've been given are:
who built the world Adrian is in, cause it sure wasn't Jon, unless Jon has gone senile on mars. And judging from the tomatoes on trees and toy buffalo not moving, it's prolly Angela's kid, who was building a replica of Jon's glass citadel on Mars (Laurie broke it in 1985) out of magnetic tinker toys that look like atoms
Where's Dan/Nite-Owl, since all his tech is being used by Tulsa PD, but both Dan AND Laurie are supposed to be in jail
I'm talking stuff like
even knowing who Laurie is,
her having her dad's last name and not her own, while having the same black humor/wit that her dad may have
Rorschach finding The Comedian's costume in a closet like Angela found the Klansman shyt,
Laurie ending her "joke" with the same lines that Rorschach used at the end of his "but I AM Pagliacci" joke
You know.... hints and easter egg stuff you wouldn't know unless you read/watched the OG Watchmen
